While I was in the process of trying to regain anything that might help me, a door opened from the opposite side of the room. A woman stepped out into the light. Her skin was a solid pale white and her eyes were simply black.

She smiled "Hello Kai, how are you feeling?" Kai?  "My apologies Miss but you have been asleep for a long time."I looked at her confused, trying to remember anything from before just a couple minutes ago, anything I had tried to grasp onto fell through t he cracks like sand in an hourglass.

"The General wishes to see you immediately, please, follow me." I refrained from asking her why or who 'The General' was; I knew I would find out the answers on my own. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and slowly slid down until my feet touched the cold ceramic-like floor.

I stood up slowly and used the side of the bed to steady myself until I could stand steadily on my own. I took a few steps forward and started walking towards the large wooden door.

She followed close behind as the door slid to a close behind us. The light was much brighter in the corridors and it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the blinding light.

We passed several doors before until we finally reached two large white doors at the end of the hall.

There was a card slot in which she put in a card that looked like it was made of black and green codes that were constantly changing in every which way, and slid it in the identical slot and the lock clicked.
