So, erm, all I can really do is apologise for not updating this story again.

I've not really been on this account and, when I have been on here, it's been only to update by two Hunger Games fanfics which I've got.

Anyway, I hope you like this part and thank you for being patient where this story is concerned.

Without anymore speech from me, I present part fourteen of The Assistant.

Emma's POV -

I looked at the time and saw that it had just hit seven.

I was supposed to be there by eight, and I still needed to get myself ready; but there was something which was stopping me from preparing for what was supposed to be an amazing night out.

Instead, I was just sitting on my bed, looking at the wardrobe full of clothes.

Questioning myself as to if I had made the right decision, or if I had simply made things a lot worse for myself now.

"Em? What are you doing?" Dara asked, her heading appearing round the corner of my door with a look of concern.

"I don't think I can do this. I don't think I can go there and face all of the looks." I sighed.

"If you don't turn up, then you know Tom is only going to come here and get you himself." Dara laughed and I knew that she was telling the truth, Tom would come marching round here himself to make sure I went to that party if I wasn't there by eight.

"Here. This is the dress  you should wear." Dara smiled as she pulled out a long blue dress which, on me, was going to drag along the floor. The last time I wore the dress was when my best friend finally decided he was going to marry the girl of his dreams; which also happened to be the day that one of my many boyfriends decided they were going to tell me it was over because I wasn't what he was looking for anymore. "And these are the shoes you should wear with it."

She practically threw the shoes at me, but I didn't even remember that I owned them, so I don't know how the hell she found them.

They were also blue, but somewhat lighter than the dress was, and they looked like they were going to go perfectly with the dress choice - Dara had a good eye for fashion, so I simply trusted her decision and nodded to indicate I was going to put up with it for tonight.

Either I was going to get looks of jealousy where everyone told me how good I looked or, I was going to get the looks of jealousy where people told me I was only dressed this way to get the male attention.

"Call me when you're ready, and I'll sort your hair out for you. You're going to look amazing tonight Em. The other girls won't even recognise you." Dara grinned as she walked out of the room, and allowed me the time which I needed to actually get ready to show these people that I wasn't going to be shoved out of the group and I wasn't going to hide, just because someone told me to stay away for the sake of myself.

**

"Wow. You look stunning." Dara gushed, presenting me before a mirror in her bedroom.

She was right, I did actually look amazing for once.

The dress complimented my figure and, all Dara had done, was put some mascara and eyeliner on to bring my eyes out properly. My hair looked amazing in its waves and Dara had even allowed me to borrow her favourite pair of earings and her bracelet to bring the outfit together.

"There's just one more thing." Dara grinned, as she rummaged through the bottom of her wardrobe, pulling out a royal blue clutch bag and giving it to me.
