"Make sure you use that number," Devontay said, walking backwards away from Xita with a big ass smile on his face. He had just given her his number, thinking she was really putting it in her phone, which she didn't, she just pretended to.

"Will do," she gave a fake smile, turning and walking the other way, rolling her eyes when she was no longer facing him. He was pursuing her every damn day, and it was really annoying. He would meet up with her in the hallways, trying to walk her to class and everyday after school before he headed out to the track for football practice.

"Hey, what was that about?" Angel asked, speed walking to catch up with her, making Xita shake her head and roll her eyes.

"Yo little boyfriend won't leave me alone," she said, glancing at her as they walked to the front of the school. It was finally Friday and she was going on her date with Tony tonight and she couldn't wait.

"Oh," was all Angel said, her eyes glued to the ground, and Xita felt bad when she saw the sad expression on Angel's face.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that," she apologized, slowing down, and Angel just shook her head no.

"It's cool. I'm not tripping," she said, giving Xita a smile, when Xita's phone vibrated repeatedly in her pocket.

Pulling it out and seeing Mason's name across the screen, she answered it. "Hey Sonny," she called him the nickname she made up.

"What I tell you bout that shit?" He asked, but she could hear the smile in his voice though. "You ain't my mom's or none of my close family, so cut that shit out and come get in the car," he said, and her eyes scanned the street before landing on his car and a smile spread across her face.

"Ok, here I come, just a minute. Bye," she said and they got off the phone, and she turned her attention back to Angel. "Look, I'm really sorry," she said. She knew how Angel felt, she was still in very strong like with the dude, Xita knew it wasn't love though. She'd get over it eventually.

"I said it's cool," she rolled her eyes, and laughed. "Sonny waiting on you," she teased, and Xita's face fell. She had straight forgot Angel was all in Mason's grill when they first met, but it wasn't like anything happened between the two of them.

"Right," Xita said, "I'll see you later then," she began walking towards Mason's car and Angel began walking towards the parking lot, waving bye to Xita who ran the rest of the way to Mason's car and getting in.

"You missed me?" He asked, as soon as she was in and had her seat belt on.

"Hell naw, I didn't miss yo ugly self," she rolled her eyes smiling, before turning back to him and smiling sweetly. "You missed me though?"

"Fuck outda here, naw I didn't miss you," he mugged, before they both laughed, before he pulled out and drove away from the school. "What you trying to do?"

"I need to go to the mall," she said, remember she had made more money with Booney. He texted her the other night and told her the only way she could make it up to him is if she worked that night and he would bring her back home early in the morning before her mom woke up. She almost got caught too.

"For what?" He asked, looking at her like she was crazy and she rolled her eyes at him. "You gone get enough of that rolling them eyes and shit, hit yo ass in the back of the head, them hoes get stuck like that," he threatened, and she rolled her eyes again.

"Okay, dang, I'ma stop!" She laughed, holding up her hands for protection when he cocked his hand back like he was about to hit her.

"I know, now what we getting from the mall?" He asked again.
