Chapter 7

Friday. My favorite day of the week.

Why? It starts the weekend and it's the day of Lauren's weekly beach party where we get to preform. I look forward to it all week and usually the weekdays go by so slow. But not this week. This whole week since our first date, Tobias and I have been on "lock- down".

We have spent the past 2 days together and neither of us has left my house. Since my parents are always gone, my brother is in London for this study abroad summer thing, and his dad is away for business we didn't have any reason not to. We even turned off our cell phones so our friends didn't distract us. If this is an unconventional start of a relationship, I don't think I want normalcy.

" Tobias come on wake up."  He just grumbles in response.

"Come on Tobias. We have to be ready for the party in 2 hours"

When he still doesn't move I know exactly how to wake him up.

I lean forward and kiss him softly. That, of course, gets his attention. He sits up, but I get distracted too and we both end up laying back down next to each other. I didn't think that through very well.

Reluctantly I pull away and tell him, "Come on, lets go. We have to get ready. Unfortunately our little lock in is over"

" Fine, but only because it means you get to preform tonight. You should know all our friends are probably going to be asking thousands of questions."

"Yeah, I thought about that. It's not a big deal to me if they find out."

" Good. I was thinking about telling them anyway"

We say goodbye and open the door for the first time in 2 days.

Tobias and I planned so we could get to the beach at the same time, that way one of us wouldn't have to answer all our friends questions alone. I mean it was inevitable, we've both been MIA for the week.

We get out next to each other and easily find our group. the second they see us theres questions flying everywhere and we couldn't get a word in if we tried.

The conversation went somewhere along the lines of this:

All of them starting screaming about where we were but literally no one guessed we were together.

Zeke and Uriah started telling Tobias there were rumors of him getting arrested for breaking into the Sears tower. And then complaining that they weren't invited.

At this point Marlene chimed in saying that  "It's probably true that he was with a girl!".

She, Chris and Shuana started discussing who could've been with him

I bet it was Maddison.

Maddison James or O'kelly?

Does it matter? At least he's finally dating!

That last one was, obviously, Christina.

I look at Tobias, and I cant tell we're thinking the same thing. They have no idea.

Then they round on me, and start firing questions about where I've been and why I hadn't answered their texts. Thats when I finally break and cannot contain my laughter. I literally have tears running down my face and Tobias is laughing just as hard.
