Chapter 24

Chapter 24~TRIS pov

"Okay now wait a second. Lemme fix your hair."

"You just fixed i before that one. I hardly even moved my head. How could it have gotten messed up?" I sighed

"Be quiet and purse your lips so I can touch up your lipstick." I did as I was told. Right now it was 6:30pm. There was still a half hour until tobias would get here, but the girls had been here since 6:30 this morning.

And apparently, they had planned ahead with a schedule.

We started at 7:30 after I at breakfast. We started with "spa prepartations." I took a shower to wash my hair,shaved and moisturized my legs, then took a relaxing bubble bath. After I washed my face and got into comfortable clothing.From there, Christina took control of doing my nails, marlene in charge of my hair, and shuana did my makeup.

Now here I was, Dressed in my black and silver dress Tobias gave me and silver heels. My hair was done in an intricate style thanks to Mar. Shauna had given me a defining smokey eye shadow with eyeliner and mascara, making my eyes a peircing blue color. My lips were a subtle redish color. Chris had given me acrylic nails- which she could apply better than at the salon.

Since we started so early, we obviously finished early. And every five minutes Christina would stop to re-hairspray my hair, or touch up my makeup. It was a little extreme. Honestly I began thinking they were more excited than I was. I suppose I understood though. This was different than other dances. Something the rest of our friends would be able to do for at least a year if not two.

As they snapped more and more pictures I was begininning to think 7:00 would never come, but I finally heard the doorbell ring, signally Tobias had arrived. The girls Squealed and hurried me up my many staircases, saying something about my "grand entrance." As if its my wedding day or something I thought sarcastically. I heard the door open and the girls great him.

"Four, Tris will be down in a minute. She's just doing some finishing touches." I heard Shauna tell him.

Finishing touches. those had been doen at noon. I grabbed my clutch bag from my room, putting in my phone, debit card, and lipstick and mascara. Only essentials could fit in this bag. Then I began decending the stairs. When Tobias saw me a big smile spread across his face, And I felt the same one creep onto my face. He looked incredible in his tux. When I reached him, he pulled me into a kiss, and whispered "beautiful." Into my ear.

Christina smiled proudly as she showed me her phone screen. She got perfect shots of our kiss, and him whispering to me. They looked as if we had posed for her.

"Im assuming this means another round of photos?' I ask.

"Duh. Why else would I have had Four get here so early?" She says. I cant help but laugh at her

"Woah" I say, as we walk in. Prom was the only dance not held at school- this year it was actually at the House of Blues. The whoe place looked like a fairytale come to life. When we walked toward the dance floor I could hardly contain a gasp. The song playing was none other than Play it Again by Luke bryan. I laughed when Tobias held out his hand, and gestured toward the floor.

"I thought it would be fitting if I asked You to dance this time." He joked. I giggled as he took me in his arms, and we began swaying to the tune.

"I love you so much Bea."

"I love you too T." He leaned in a kissed me, long a swee

The next song came on. A more upbeat song-Burn, by Ellie Goulding. We danced and danced. We took pictures in a photo booth they had in the corner.The first one was us smiling normally, the second we were making strange faces at the camera, the third he kissed me on the heek and I made a fake surprised face. The last was us in a real kiss. One that lasted much after the picture was taken. It deepened but we were broken apart by the sound of knocking on the side of the booth.

"Are you almost done? We've been waiting." A voice said from outside. I bit back a laugh, and fixed my hair before we oulled the curtain back and stepped out holding hands. I start to apologize to whoever was waiting

"Oh Tris! Four! I didnt know it was you in there." the girl says.I see that it was lauren waiting with her boyfriend. I forgot he was a junior.

"Hey Lauren. Sorry about that. We'll be out of your way now." I tell her, giving her a quick hello hug.

"Dont worry about it. Talk to you later."

We Talked to some of the other seniors we're friends with, and before I knew it- the night was over.

I couldn't help feeling relieved ot had ended as we walked to Tobias' truck. Not that the night was ending now, because the night had been perfect. But because now I knew nothing bad happened. All night I couldnt shake the feeling of worry. Like something huge was happening. My mind was at peace now. For the first time in forever.
