Enoch stared at Horace at breakfast the next day. They were sat opposite each other and neither ones eyes left the other persons. Olive sat beside Enoch, Claire beside Olive, and Emma sat next to Claire. Reese sat beside Horace, then to Horace's left was Fiona, Bronwyn was next to Fiona, and Millard was next to Bronwyn. Miss Peregrine was at the head.
"Mr O'Conner, Mr Sumnusson, is there something you wish to tell us?" Miss P asked suspiciously. Enoch blushed bright red and years sparkled in his eyes. Horace simply looked down at his food and muttered:"No." "Aww, Enoch, are you OK?" Reese said, giving him puppy dog eyes. Enoch growled and tears began to spill. Reese laughed. He flung his chair backwards and ran from the room. "Ms Jones, please leave this dinner table. I don't care where you go." Miss P ordered. Reese obediently got up and made for her room, it was time for her to spread the gossip.
Meanwhile, Enoch had been in his bedroom crying into his pillow the entire time. He hated getting embarrassed and he hated Reese. He reached out his hand as it entered the top drawer of the bedside table, where he kept his diary. Then he began to write:
Reese, that awful, mean bastard! I didn't even do anything! JM sat in my bed right now, crying as I write this. Its September the 3rd 1940, but I think I remember Millard saying that it was July 12th 2016 in real time. I hope Reese goes back to real time, or, better yet, die here. She is so mean, I can't believe she's t everyone wrapped around her little finger!
Then he placed his diary back inside the drawer and cried some more. Then the door opened. "Enoch?" It was Horace. Enoch lifted his head slightly, trying his hardest to stop the tears. Horace walked in and sat at the foot of Enoch's bed. "Oh, Enoch..." Horace sighed, running his fingers through Enoch's shaggy, unbrushed, sandy blond hair. Enoch liked the feeling. He decided that now would be a good time to tell Horace his feelings. He sat up a bit and cuddled into Horace. "Horace, I like this guy and he's older then me and he's a boy. Do you think he would mind if I were gay? Do you think he would like me? He's a good friend of mine, I've just never told him. Your OK, with me being gay, right?" Horace nodded slowly. He knew what Enoch's was asking - he dreamt it. And just to help Enoch through his embarrassment, he kissed him. Not on the forehead; not on the cheek. It was a full lips-to-lips sensation. Enoch kissed back heartily, and when both boys pushed away, both their faces were bright red.
Horace panted heavily and Enoch snuggled closer. "Does that help answer your question which you have yet to ask?" Asked Horace sarcastically. Enoch nodded. "Yeah, thanks Horace."
But what neither of them knew was that Reese had been outside the door the entire time, with both a voice recorder and camera on. She had taken photos and saved their entire conversation. When she was done with them, Miss Peregrine would have no choice but to send her away. And within doing so, place the house under the same curse the last twenty had as soon as she left. It was part of her peculiarity - but no one could prove this because none had lived to tell the tale.
"There now, let's wipe away those tears." Said Horace, using his fingers to wipe Enoch's face. Enoch smiled shyly, still blushing, and once Horace was done, they were engaged in a great snog that not even Reese's gags were stopping it.
At lunch time, Claire and Olive were playing with Claire's dolls in the garden just as Reese walked by. "Reese!" Olive called. "Come play with us!" Shouted Claire. Reese smiled sweetly and knelt down beside them. "What game are we playing?" She asked. "Dolls." Answered Olive. "How about a different game. Here." She passed Olive Enoch's diary and Claire Emma's. They both flicked through them eagerly before running to find the diary's owners, wishing to rub their own secrets in their faces.
Reese laughed silently to herself - once Emma and Enoch made a sceen, Miss Peregrine and the others would go to see them having an argument with Olive and Claire, giving her the chance to t inside and cause some chaos. Little did the peculiars know, she was the most wanted person in six of the seven continents, this one being the only one who haven't found out that she is at fault about... Well... Near enough everything.
