When the family finally arrived at the zoo, Zayn and Louis couldn't wait to get out of the car. Their dad had been critiquing them the whole journey, asking Louis why he's not got a girlfriend yet and why Zayn is too quiet.

Louis managed to take each blow without showing emotion, it was hurting him on the inside but he would never let his father's words make him cry in front of the boys.

As soon as Geoff stopped his car they both unbuckled their seat belts and ran to Liam, who had also just pulled up in his Range Rover.

"What's wrong baby?" Liam sighed as he saw fresh tear stains on Zayn's cheeks.

"Dad just wasn't being nice." Louis said as he knew Zayn wasn't really up for talking right now.

"C'mere bud." Liam said and Zayn crashed into his older brother's arms, this time with no obstacles such as Harry or Niall.

Because of that, Liam was able to pick the boy up to give him a bear hug before placing him on the ground and fixing his hair.

"Just two hours babes. Two hours and then we can go back home." Liam assured him and then brought Niall's pram out of the car boot.

He put it up in no time since he was used to doing it, and soon had Niall strapped into it with his little sun hat on his head because the sun was really strong. He then unbuckled Harry and helped him down too, telling him to stay close to the pram at all times and to keep his hat on his head.

"Are we ready to go in yet?" Geoff said in a bored tone, as if he hadn't just seen Liam do all of the things that he was technically meant to do.

"I just need to put some more suncream on the boys." Liam said as he took the suncream out of Niall's diaper bag and applied a generous amount to the baby's arms, legs and face.

He then moved on to do Harry, making sure to get none in his curls and then gave the bottle to Zayn and Louis for them to do the same. Liam had to help Zayn out a little but soon they were ready to go.

"Finally." Geoff rolled his eyes, and Liam looked to his mother to see what she thought of his behaviour but she just sadly shrugged.

Liam placed the suncream back in the diaper bag and started pushing Niall's pram towards the entrance, making sure that Harry was holding onto the side of the buggy at all times.

"Wanna see the monkeys." Harry said as they paid their admission fees.

"We'll see all the animals baby." Liam assured him as he collected their tickets and stood in the small group that was going to be taken round by a park ranger.

After the group was full - there were twenty people maximum per one park ranger - the ranger started to take them round the zoo.

They were taken to the bear inclosure first and shown two grizzly bears named Comet and Saturn. The reason they were in the zoo was because they were endangered. There was also some happy news since they found out Saturn is pregnant.

Next, they were shown the bat inclosure, which Harry didn't like because it was dark and scary. Liam assured him that there was nothing to be afraid of because he was there and also the bats were separated by a glass panel, but Harry was still wary.

Finally, the family were taken to the monkeys. Harry was over the moon as he listened to everything the ranger had to say about them. He even got to throw a banana in for them to eat! He didn't want to leave the monkeys but Liam told him there were more animals to see.

After Harry had seen the monkeys he began to get tired and bored, as that's what happens to children once they've seen what they wanted to see. Liam knew it would happen as he's always like this at the mall or supermarket.

"LiLi, m'tired." Harry said, trailing his feet behind him so that they were making a scuffing noise.

"Pick your feet up Harry, you'll ruin your trainers." Liam said and Harry pouted and held his arms up.

Liam sighed but picked Harry up anyways, looking behind him seeing his dad speaking on his hands free and his mum typing furiously on her phone.

Liam walked with Harry on his hip while also pushing the pram for the rest of the tour and nearly shouted with absolute glee when the ranger announced that the tour had finished.

"We're going to go to the cafe. The boys are too warm and they sell ice cream." Liam said to his father as he saw all of the boys sweating, and Zayn swaying ever so slightly.

"Well, I think your mother and I have to head to the office for a while so we'll see you at home." Geoff said before he and Karen headed to the car.

Liam sighed, but saw the positive side - at least Zayn and Louis wouldn't have to ride with them on the way home.

"Who wants ice cream?" Liam asked excitedly.

"Me!" Harry and Zayn squealed as Niall giggled and Louis just nodded his head.

Liam took Niall and Harry up to the ice cream counter while Zayn and Louis sat at a table, already having told Liam their orders.

"What can I get for you today my lovelies." The old lady over the counter smiled.

"A chocolate ice cream please." Harry grinned up at the lady, his eyes just peeking over the counter.

"Is your daddy treating you today." She said, glancing at Liam as she scooped the chocolate ice cream into a cone.

Liam blushed and was about to tell her that he wasn't Harry's dad - did he even look old enough? Although, she probably thought Harry was younger than he actually was. However, before he could say anything Harry had already nodded and took his ice cream from her.

He ordered a mint cone for Louis and cookies and cream for Zayn. He also ordered a plain wafer for Niall since he didn't like the coldness of the ice cream and paid for the lot. He thanked the nice lady once again before going to sit down where Zayn and Louis were.

"Here you go." Liam said passing the boys their cones.

"Thank you LiLi." Zayn said while Louis offered a small "Thanks."

Liam sat Niall's buggy so that it was opposite him and gave the baby his cone. Niall took it happily and began to suck and bite the wafer. Harry had already made a mess of his face with the chocolate ice cream but Liam didn't care, it was worth it to see the happy smile on his face.

He took Niall's sippy cup out of the bag and a fruit shoot for Harry and Zayn. He offered Louis one too, but Louis denied saying he was too big for them and he'd have a bottle of water like Liam.

They sat in the cafe for another half an hour before Liam decided it was time to go home. Niall was asleep in his buggy, despite the nap he had earlier and Harry was struggling to keep his eyes open too.

The family had a great day at the zoo, even if it was really just the five boys with their parents making an appearance.
