hugging dan was probably the one of the most exhilarating experience i've ever felt. the way he feels on my arms, it all feels so right. i almost never want to let go.

despite my resolve, i finally decided to pull away, settling my hands over the both of his forearms. i looked at his brown irises saturating with warmth as i gave him a gentle smile.

"i'm glad it's you." i finally blurted out

his countenance changed from astonishment to relief and to utter happiness.

then he smiled.

he smiled so wide, revealing the dimples on his cheeks, the corners of his eyes crinkled.

to my surprise, he was the one to pull me into a fierce hug this time. he buried his face on my neck, his nose brushing gently into the exposed skin. i shivered lightly at the contact.

i slowly wrapped my hands on his waist and hummed contentedly. i kissed his head quickly before pulling away. he whined quietly at this, making me chuckle.

"phil," dan said gently, if a bit tentative

"yes?"

he bit his lip again and looked down on his lap, "i'm sorry i didn't tell you earlier." there was a pause, "i just— i was— i'm really scared you'll hate me once you find out who i am."

i encased his right hand on both of my palms, "dan look at me." he let go of his bottom lip and shifted his gaze to mine. "i could never hate you, we we're friends. but i was really perplexed and kinda hurt when you stopped talking to me on year nine."

dan had this expression of utter disbelief in his face, "i helped your girlfriend cheat on you!" he said almost desperately.

"w—wait i didn't mean to say it like that but i just—"

i winced at the memory. i was really young and stupid that time, but i have to admit that hurt me.

i sighed, "dan, i thought we're over this." i tilted my head a bit, "you didn't help her cheat on me, she kissed you."

"but that doesn't change the fact that i—"

"we were young and stupid. although it hurt, it wasn't as if i was inlove with her or anything." i reassured him, "also, it wasn't the first time that happened, she cheated on me before that."

he dropped his gaze and looked down again, "wow," he chuckled, "i was beating myself over something that wasn't even my fault for three years." he shook his head, "i'm an idiot."

i chuckled and let go of his hand, "can't argue with that."

his immediate response is to swat me on my forearm, "hey!"

"ow! that hurt!"

"you called me an idiot!"

"you called yourself an idiot!"

"you agreed!"

"because you are one!" and this earned me another swat on my arm.

"we meet for the first time and this is how you treat me, you're horrible."

"you deserve it!" he crossed his arms and pouted. i chuckled at his cuteness.

"i'm sorry babe. i'll be nice from now on, i promise." i smiled fondly, "especially now that i can see your beautiful face."

dan is blushing so hard and i laughed quietly at his failed attempt to hide his blush under his fringe, "i'm not beautiful."

"you are. end of discussion."

he was still looking down but i know that he's smiling.

"also, now that i know that you're the dan who's been messaging me on kik. expect my constant presence. i'm going to annoy you to no end.

he grinned, "i'm fine with that."

grae: i was thinking maybe i should stop this here (because ive just read this and realized how shitty this fic is). but there are still things that i haven't cleared up oops.
