a few weeks had passed, more cuts and possibly scars had shown up on Connors arm, Evans anxiety had been getting better. After school they did the usual; Evan went to the bus stop, and Connor found Zoe and they went to her car.
"So how was your day?" Zoe asked trying to start a conversation
"Eh, the usual. Shit." Connor made the car silent, like usual.
Once they got home something seemed off, Mercury wasnt barking at the car or he wasnt at the door waiting for connor
"Uh wheres Mercury?" Connor gasped
"The back door and gate is open." Zoe yelled from the kitchen
Connor picked up his phone and called his Cynthia "Mom wheres mercury?"
"In space." she joked
"MOM THIS ISNT FUCKING FUNNY HES NOT HERE AND THE BACK DOORS OPEN"
"Oh uh is the gate too?"
"yES!!"
"wheres Zoe?"
"Outside looking for him" By this time Connor had checked all rooms in the house every door was open, except the front door some of the stuff in Connors room had been misplaced from where it was when he left this morning
"Mom i think someones been in the house, unless you were in my room"
"No i never go in your room, because you always tell me to get out."
Panic rushed to Connor tears formed in his eyes, he rushed out the back door and out to gate catching up to Zoe with his long ass legs. "Someone has been in the house"
"What?! How do you kno- Are you crying?" Zoe chuckled
"NO FUCK OFF." he wiped away a tear from his cheek "Some things in my room had been moved and my closet was open and I swear I closed it. Also mom hasnt been in my room, so someone was in the house"
"uh how did they unlock the back door? and where did they take Mercury"
"I DONT KN- holy shit. It was Jarrod!"
"Kleinman??"
"No not Jared. Jarrod, the one i sold all my pot and shit to, he wanted more but wouldnt fuck off" Connor sprinted over to jarrods house with Zoe following him. He bashed on his door until he or someone opened it "JARROD GET OUT HERE LITTLE FUCKING PRICK"Connor screeched. Jarrod mom had opened the door "uh. Jarrod come here." jarrod came down the stairs with a cigarette in his mouth "Oh looking for him" He had put a muzzle on Mercury. Tears once again formed in the corner of Connors eyes. He ran in the house and punched Jarrod in the jaw.
"CONNOR!" zoe ran in after him and grabbed his arms. Jarrods mom just stood there and did nothing like she couldnt care less that her son had just been punched in the jaw. Zoe let go of Connors arms as Jarrod went in to punch him back, so Zoe had grabbed the dog and ran outside to take the muzzle off him, meanwhile; Connor was being strangled and punched hard in the gut, he started coughing up blood. Zoe was about to call the police but she refused to because pot was illegal and this is what this was about so there was no way she would.
She went back inside and kicked Jarrod in the balls, grabbed connor by the arm and ran out with the dog following. Once they got back to their house, they locked all the doors. and sat down on the couch and sighed "That was uh intense" Zoe groaned
"Tell me about it." Connor stood up and walked to the bathroom, he grabbed a cloth and started cleaning up the blood, he had a cut lip and a probably black eye.
"hey ily!"
"Ily2!"
"Just got in a fight but im okay babe!"
"With who?! Are you sure youre okay?!"
"Over protective bf^^ and with Jarrod, he took Mercury and so i punched him, so he tried to strangle me, but we got the dog!!"
"Oh okay, but next time dont get hurt! i care about you, ilysm!!"
