Clarke almost dropped the radio when she heard the ship entering into the Earth's atmosphere. She stared in utter disbelief, a single tear running down her cheek. Today was the day. Six years and seven days later and she was finally going to see Bellamy and the rest of her friends. She made her way to the back of the rover to where Madi was sleeping. After all the stories Clarke told Madi about her friends in space, Madi was extremely excited to meet them, especially Bellamy. Clarke had a habit of talking about Bellamy more and Madi caught on to it, always teasing Clarke about it.
"Wake up my little nightblood" she whispered as she gently nudged Madi.
Madi groaned, not wanting to be woken up. "No lessons today." She didn't make any move to get up until the ship made another very loud boom as it came closer to the ground. Madi jumped up as if she was never asleep in the first. She looked at Clarke with wide eyes, "is that?"
Clarke didn't say anything, only nodding her head and looked at Madi with the brightest of smiles. Madi jumped up and out of the rover so quickly, as if it was her own friends coming back to Earth.
Before she followed after Madi, Clarke sat on the edge of the Rover and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She even started giving herself a pep talk. "Come on now there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about, these are my friends. Yes I haven't seen them in six years but they are still the same people... I hope."
Her little pep talk was cut short by Madi's questioning voice. "I thought you said the ship was small?"
Something wasn't right but the ship is small Clarke thought to herself. She ran to where Madi was standing about 10 feet in front of the rover. The ship was now hovering in the sky above then and it was three times the size of the ship from Becca's lab. Before Clarke could say anything Madi started yelling.
"Hey, hey! We're right here!"
"Shh!" Clarke shushed Madi as she crouched down, pulling Madi down with her.
"Madi go get my rifle. Now." Clarke knew she needed to get a better look at the ship and the scope on her rifle was the best way to do that.
"Aren't these your friends though?"
"I just need you to go get my rifle Madi." Madi didn't question her any further because she could tell something was off. Clarke was too tense for her friends to be on that ship.
It didn't take Madi long at all to bring the rifle to Clarke. She didn't think she was going to find anything useful looking through her scope but what she read just confused her even more. The ship had ELIGIUS CORPORATION written on the side, but the next thing she read gave her an unsettling feeling. On another part of the ship she read 'prisoner transport.' She knew she should probably get as far away as possible but the only thought going through her head was keeping the kids safe.
She pointed the rifle down, dropping it from her face so she could look at Madi. "I need you to gather the kids?"
"All of them?" she asked Clarke, confused by her request.
"Yes all of them, and I need you to take them to our emergency spot just liked we've talked about."
"But why?"
She always loved how curious Madi was, but now was not the time. She didn't want to lie to her but she didn't know what to say. "Something just isn't right and all of you need to stay safe." Madi only nodded, grasping the seriousness of the situation. She was about to turn to head to the rover when Clarke stopped. "Madi I need you to protect them, at what ever cost. Will you do that?"
