Clarke woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. The events of the night still leaving a wave of exhaustion over Clarke. She sat up in the bed, sending another pulse of pain through her head. As she looked around her room she noticed she was alone. Bellamy must've left before she got up. Just as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed she heard some laughter coming from the main level. Standing up from her bed caused Clarke to stumble a little bit, the headache making her dizzy. "Shit" she said as she rubbed her forehead. Slowly, she made her way out of her room and to the main floor. She was not prepared for the craziness she was about to walk into. Everyone else was already awake and laughing at something, or someone, she couldn't quite see. Clarke didn't have to get any closer to see though, because a few seconds later the twins' heads popped above the group. Taking a few steps closer, stopping right behind the group, Clarke was finally able to see what they were doing. The twins were were on the shoulders of Madi and Jax, and they were seeing who would loose their balance first. It was funny to see Leena and Kenna flailing their arms, trying to make the other fall first.
"What are you guys doing?" Clarke asked after watching them for a few minutes. Everyone jumped at the sound of her voice. She had been quiet when she walked up, so no one had noticed she was there until now.
Echo was surprisingly the first one to speak. "Madi and Jax here" she said pointing to the two kids "thought it would be fun to bet a week's worth of work on the twins."
"And although is was good fight, but I think it was a tie." It was Harper who spoke up next, and the two kids started bickering at her suggestion. Both Madi and Jax thought the other one had lost their bet. Their bickering was loud and it was making Clarke's headache worse.
"Can you two quit it?" Clarke didn't mean to sound irritated but she knew she did. She took a breath and started rubbing her temples. "Madi can you please get me some lavender and water?." Madi knew that when Clarke got a headache it was best to just do as she asked, so she quickly got the two items.
"Are you okay?" Bellamy could tell Clarke was in pain.
"It's just a stubborn headache. I'll be fine once I drink some of the lavender."
"Do you get them often?" Raven asked, concerned about her friend.
"Not all the time, but I do get them quite often. It actually started after I got the really bad radiation poisoning. I think it's some sort of lifelong side effect or something."
So she's been living with these bad headaches for six years now Bellamy thought to himself. She was definitely stronger than most of the people he knew.
"And as soon as I can get rid of this headache I'll tell you guys about the other ship I saw, because you definitely need to know."
It didn't take Madi long at all to return with the two ingredients for Clarke to make her lavender tea. As she worked on her tea everyone was asking questions about Earth and how it has changed in the six years. Clarke told them everything about the new Earth, like how plants only started regrowing a year ago and how she still hasn't seen any animals.
"Wait so there's no animals? What have you been eating then?" Monty asked Clarke.
"Well I haven't seen any, but I swear I can sometimes hear a bird" Clarke let out a sigh, not know if she'll ever see a bird again. "We just have been eating berries and plants. We even planted some seeds that we found here in the lab."
"So you've lived without meat for six years? That's probably what made you so weird."
Clarke sent Murphy a glare. "I swear to god Murphy I will kick you out, and you'll sleep outside."
