Chapter 8

Katherine's POV:

"Hey beautiful." Adam greeted me with a kiss on the back of my palm. I immediately retrieved my hand away from his grip and smiled.

"Hi Adam." I greeted him back and sat on the chair besides him.

"So? Are you free in the evening?" he asked.

"Why?"

"Umm. I was wondering of you and I- I mean if we could go for a movie or something." he said nervously.

I know what he's trying to do. He wants to impress me but now I feel bad for him that he is unknown to the mystery I am facing in my life right now. I have to tell him about Darwin before he goes further with his feelings.

"Adam I need to talk to you. I mean I want to tell you some-"

"Good morning class." Mrs. Evans' voice interrupted me in the middle of my sentence.

"We'll talk about this in lunch time." Adam whispered in my ear and I nodded.

The rest of the class went smoothly and soon lunch time came.

"So, what were you saying?" Adam asked while we picked up our trays and walked towards our usual spot where our rest of the friends were waiting.

"I can't tell you in front of everyone. Let's do one thing, you come at my place in the evening and instead of going for movie, we'll talk." I suggested.

"Perfect." Adam gave me his wide smile. Oh boy, I'm afraid you'll going to face heartbreak soon.

I sat on the empty chair between Jackson and Rosaline. And put my tray in front of me.

"Hey, eat it from your own tray." I slapped on Jackson's hand which were stealing my fries.

"But your fries tastes awesome." he reasoned.

"Touch my fries again and I'll kill you." I gave him a death glare and he back off.

"We need to talk about lots of thing." Rose whispered to me so that no one else could hear. I knew what she was referring to.

"Yeah. How about we'll do sleepover tonight? At my place." I asked her and Nova.

"Sounds great." Nova said and Rosaline nodded in agreement too.

I threw my bag on the table and took off my converse. I was about to pop on my bed when I heard some strange noises. I looked at everywhere but I was clueless as to where it was coming from. But then another noise came and my eyes immediately sticked to the window opposite to me.

That noise was none other than a moan and it was coming from Darwin's room. What the hell. I ran towards the window and looked closely in his room.

My heart hurted like someone is clenching my heart tightly and then stabbing it with knife. Tears started rolling down my cheeks and my world collapsed. I Katherine Anna White, wait for the boy for 5 freaking years and never let a guy to come closer to me and for the one person for whom I did this, was with a blonde girl on his bed in front of me. Not in front of me practically but I could see him.

It was hurting me too badly to see that scene but my eyes were glued to them. Darwin hovered on top of her and kissed her lips passionately, another moan escaped from her lips and I couldn't take it anymore. I closed my window loudly, on purpose. I wanted him to know that I have seen him cheating on me. But wait, why would he care about this right? If he can be with any girl on his bed without even care to close his window that I might see him then why would he care about me. Now it was as clear as crystal to me that he was behaving strangely around me because he doesn't love me anymore. His love, his affection, his attention, his care was just his childishness. I would have never believed a 13 year old boy when he said he loves me. He is not wrong; I am the one who is fool over here who thought he came back for me. I am the one who assumed that I am his peace, his home. But in reality, I mean nothing to him. Not anymore. I fell on my bed and cried on my pillow for an hour or two.
