Darwin's POV:

One week later

Have you ever struggled for light? Got wounded, stung, and hopeless but still run for that light? Smiled when you see that light from afar, hoping that one day you will be able to reach to it? And then finally you get too close to that light that you feel on the top of the world? But as soon as you put your face in that light, open your arms and feel the warmth of it, someone comes and covered that light with eternal darkness? Have you ever lost yourself in that darkness?

"Look at the camera of street 10 again, we must find something from that footage." Officer said to security guard.

"Ok sir."

"Nothing is going to come out if we look at the same footage again and again." I slammed my fist on the table with frustration.

"Darwin, calm down. We are doing everything which is needed. In addition, you are finding Katherine continuously without sleeping for even an hour. You should go home and rest for a bit." He suggested.

"I'm fine." I said while rubbing my hands on my face.

"You have become exhausted, Darwin. Please go." He insisted.

I sighed deeply and nodded.

"But you will inform me if you find anything." I said and he nodded in response.

"Did they find anything?" Aunt Sarah asked hopefully when I entered Katherine's apartment.

"They are still looking." I lowered my face and said.

"Darwin, you are doing your best to find her." She assured me and rubbed my arm to make me feel better.

"I'm sorry. I failed to save your daughter." I moved forward and stared out of the window in sadness.

"We all love her equally, son." I heard Uncle Nick saying from behind.

I turned around and looked at them. The day Katherine went missing, I called them and informed them. Everyone gathered there on my one phone call, Katherine's friends and family plus my family.

Katherine's parents were also looking exhausted like me. They resisted in showing that to me because they wanted to cheer me up and give me hope that we would find her.

"Come now, eat something and then rest a bit. Meanwhile I'm going to the police station."Uncle Nick said to me.

I didn't feel like eating anything by thinking in what condition my Sunshine was in. Had she eaten anything or not?

I closed my eyes while lying on the bed.

"Caught you." And there, I caught her. She pouted and stomped her feet on ground in annoyance.

"How on earth you manage to find me in a minute when I always fail at finding you." She said to me.

"Because I know your scent, Sunshine. No matter if you're hiding or you tie this blindfold on my eyes. I will always find you." I smiled proudly.

"Well, I know your scent too but I'm too stupid that I never thought about using my senses while finding you." We laugh on her stupidity.

"Darwin?"

"Yeah?"

"The game is over, right?"

"Of course Sunshine. I have won the game."

"Then why are you still holding me?" She pointed my hands which were holding her waist firmly. I blushed when I realized but soon changed it into a smirk.
