Katherine's POV

I woke up with a pain in my neck. I held my neck and groaned in pain while struggling to open my eyes and realize that I slept on chair previous night while waiting for Darwin to come back.

"Has he not come back yet?" I mumbled.

"Darwin?" I stood up and checked him again in bathroom. I creaked the door open but again, I found it empty.

'Where on earth he is?' I thought.

After panicking for about good 15 minutes, I decided to change and then left to see Rose. I really wanted to talk to her. I was already so nervous with my proposal plan and more to it, I became double anxious because the man to whom I planned to propose was missing.

"Don't take too much stress Kathie or you'll end up with a pimple on your face." Rose tried to cheer me up but all in vain.

"Rose! Don't try to change the topic. I want to see Darwin like RIGHT NOW. Can you do something or not?" I asked with an annoyed expression.

"I'm your class mate and unfortunately your friend, but I guess you're confusing my identity with a detective." She laughed and sticked her hand out for me to give her a high-five on the lamest joke on earth. I ignored her hand and stood up to leave when she grabbed my hand to stop.

"Okay fine. I'll help you, drama queen." She said playfully and stood up too.

"I think we should go to lobby and ask receptionist about him. If he left the hotel then she must have seen him and if not then he is for sure in hotel." I said while exiting her room with Rose on my trail.

"What if he is planning something for you? And God, what if he is also planning a proposal?" Rose said and a thought alone of him proposing me made my stomach feel butterflies.

"Don't make my expectations high Rose." I said with a smile, still thinking about him proposing me.

That would be more than perfect.

'I know. But don't get too excited.' I smiled on my inner self's excitement.

Soon we reached to the receptionist and asked her about Darwin with a picture on my phone.

"Hello. Can you please tell us if you've seen this man leaving the hotel?" I asked a lady in her mid-forties. She looked at Darwin's picture closely while remembering.

"Umm, I think yes. I've seen him leaving the hotel yesterday around 10 pm."

I gave Rose a look of panic. What if he left, again?

"Don't worry Katherine. Everything is going to be alright." She said but soon realized that it didn't help me.

"Kathie look! You've seen enough, you've suffered more than necessary and now your bad time has to come to an end. Just don't worry because your good time is just a step away. Just have little patience. Yeah?" I nodded with a smile. I thought she was right. I was just thinking too much.

"Plus, you have an event to handle. Remember?" She raised her brows and said.

"How can I forget that?" I said while looping her elbow and walking towards the elevator.

And how can you forget that you have to face Adam again.

'Ugggh. Adam. You have made our relationship so awkward.'

I sighed deeply and pressed 7th floor.

I chose long green velvet dress for that night. It had long V-shaped neck line and an open back with two straps which was showing my skin more than usual but I was kind of liking that. It was not every-day that you organize such event and in addition to that, I wanted to look breath taking that night because I was going to propose Darwin and I wanted him to see me as the most beautiful girl.
