Good Jace, Bad Jace

"He attacked me. Everyone else was held by a seraph blade at their neck. He was about to stab me in the heart, if it wasn't for Magnus's invisible spell." I sighed,
Izzy flopped onto her bed,
"Are you going to tell the clave?"

"No. They will go after him and kill him."
Izzy lay in my lap, looking up at the ceiling. I fiddled with her hair,
"Are you sure it was Jace?"
"I don't know.. there's something wrong. Jace wouldn't hurt clary, he loves her. But when she was about to go in the portal, all the followers lined up, as if letting her pass."
"It could of been valentine, he wanted to keep clary safe so they can go be a happy family and live in Idris."
"But, I couldn't see valentine."

Izzy sighed, "I'm going to sleep, I'll talk in the morning."

I moved away from her, and crept out the room. I walked towards the elevator when aldertree came from behind me.
"What happened when you were gone?"
"Nothing. We couldn't find valentine."
"And Jace?"
"I haven't seen Jace."
"Fine."
I opened the door and stood inside, the doors closing slowly behind me.
"Alec, I know you are lying. Do you really want to lie to the clave tomorrow?"
"What do you mean?"
"The clave are coming to ask you questions. You will answer these questions truthfully." He laughed, "Well, you will have to. If you lie, and we have something that will know when you lie, since the mortal sword was taken."
The lift began to move,
"Oh, and, Alec.. where did all those bruises and cuts come from?"

I looked down and saw the stab wound on my arm. I looked back up but Aldertree was gone.

"You look like you have seen a ghost?" Magnus said, handing a cup of coffee to me as I walked into the room.

"I saw Aldertree as I was leaving. He said that the clave are coming tomorrow to ask me questions. I don't know how I'm going to explain the stab wound? 'I fell into a door handle doesn't work this time.'"
"Lie, then. They don't have the sword."
"I can't, he said there is another thing they have that detects lying."

I sighed, "what time is it?"
"Midnight, I think."
"Where's River?"
"She left in a hurry. She said that she was meeting an old friend or something."

River POV:

The frosty, night air sent chills up my spine.
I stood in the park for 10 minutes, but he's still not here.
I heard a snap and spun around to see Seb jumping out of a tree.
"Sorry i'm late. I had to make sure everything was perfect."
He embraced me and lifted me off my feet. He walked towards the woods, and whispered in my ear,
"Close your eyes."
I closed my eyes and let him take me away.
"Open your eyes."
I opened my eyes, and he let me down, my feet touching the moist, green grass.
"This is beautiful!" I gasped.

Around me was a large patch of grass with a glistening lake beside it. The trees protected he area from the outside world, leaving us alone. The trees were lit up with fairy lights that changed colour.
In the centre was a blanket with candles and a box of chocolate and two glasses, filled with a lime green and neon pink liquid.
I sat on the blanket, Seb sitting opposite me.
"Do you like it?"
"It's beautiful! I love it." I smiled,
He picked up one of the glasses and raised it in the air,
"To us!"
I lifted the drink to my lips and felt the liquid trickle down my throat.
"The drink is from the seelies."
"Well, tell the seelies that they make good wine. Is it wine?" I mumbled,

I noticed that his glass was still full.
"Why aren't you drink-"
"Did you hear about Jace?"
"No, what happened? How do you know him?"
"He helped valentine get out. He was about to stab Alec."
"But, how do you know all this?"
"Because, I heard everything from a shadowhunter in the institute."
"The drink hasn't had any effect on you.." he mumbled, "have mine, since you like it."
"You're scaring me.."
He lifted the glass and shoved it in my face, "drink it."
"But I don-"
Before I could say anything he shoved it down my throat.
I suddenly felt dizzy; the world was spinning, I looked around and it was changing colour.
I heard a voice say, "she's had too much."
I began laughing, I couldn't help it. All of a sudden, the world went dark.
"You are going to answer my questions, okay?"
"Yes." I replied.

I didn't move my lips, and I couldn't see anything. It was if I had been taken over.
"Will there be anyone in Magnus's house tomorrow?"
"No."
"Where will they be?"
"At the institute, Alec has to answer questions about today."
I was never told this, yet the words came spilling out of my mouth.
"Will you be at the institute tomorrow?"
"No."
"She is useless, she has nothing to say."
"Wait. One more question, is there a way for warlocks to have bonds?"
"Yes. It is like a parabatai. The two warlocks powers will merge, making them more powerful. If one of them dies, then the other one becomes weak."
"Good. Now, get her out of it."

I felt something sharp in my shoulder. I felt like the barriers were being broken down. The spell washed away and I was back.
"Why did you ask me that? Who are you?"
He looked different. His eyes were darker.
"Guards, hold her."
I felt arms around me. I tried to move but I couldn't. Seb came closer to me.
"Eat this, and everything will be okay."
He lifted a chocolate to my mouth.
I looked at it. It wasn't a chocolate. It was a pill of some kind.
"Are you trying to drug me?"
As I opened my mouth to speak, he threw it in my mouth.
I felt something change in me. I felt frozen. I couldn't move.

"Let go of her." Seb demanded, "Give me your keys to Magnus's apartment."

I felt my arm move to my pocket and take something out. I watched as Seb took the keys away.

"Good. Now, you are going to come here every night and tell me everything."
"You will also get the bond between you and Magnus."
"Finally, leave this message in Jaces room."
"Go home and sleep now, my love."

I felt my legs take me towards Magnus's apartment.

Magnus POV:

"Alec, are you okay?" I watched as he paced around the room,

"Come with me." Alec stopped and looked at me, "if you are there, then I won't be so nervous."

I felt my heart melt.
"You're so cute." I whispered,

Alec smiled. He looked down at his watch and went pale,
"It's 10:30. We should go."
