"Damn it!" I shouted, throwing another glass across the room.
"Why isn't it working?" Simon asked,
"There is something blocking it. I need more power."
"We can't give you that, try doing it again."
"If he keeps doing it, he will lose his energy. We need something else."
"Wait! Isn't there something, like a warlock bond?" River suggested,
"Warlock bond?"
"It's like a parabatai bond, but for warlocks."
"Well, how do you do it?"
"It can be useful, it will give me more power to break through. But it is dangerous. If one of them die, the other one weakens, their powers useless."
"If it helps to get Alec back, than take that risk." Jace slammed his hands on the table, "do it."
"I would, but it is impossible to do. It has not been used for centuries."
"The book. The book you have, I was looking through it and saw it." River explained, "Its painful though."I nodded and grabbed the book from the shelf, I flicked through the pages and found the bond spell.
"Okay, we need to chant this." I explained, "you guys need to get candles. Just find loads and put them in a circle."***
"Okay, stand in the circle." I told River, "and don't move."
She did as she was told, stepping over the candles.
The room was dark, the candles not lit yet.
I stepped into the circle and raised my hands, the room lighting up as the candles blazed,
"Woah." River gasped, "that was awesome."
"Okay, hold my hands." I ordered, "tight, or else the bond will break, and we will most likely die."
Her eyes went full and held my hands tightly,
"Okay, chant this." I pointed with my eyes towards the book, that lay by my feet.
Whilst chanting the words, I felt energetic and powerful. I could feel the energy running through me.
As we chanted the last line, I felt my head spin. The candles blew out and we were in darkness.
A light came from Jace, his witchlight held to his face,
"Did it work?"
"Yes. I can feel it."
"Well, congratulations. You have now got the bane bond." Simon joked,
"The Bane bond! That can be our new band name!" River gasped,
"You.. you two have a band?" Simon questioned,
"No, Simon. It is a joke. Do you not understand sarcasm."
"I don't know about you, but I was being serious." River exclaimed,
"Is that sarcasm?"
"Sarcasm is like me saying to you, 'oh you and clary are a lovely couple together, I hope you have a happy life." Jace teased,
"Oh, you really think-- wait.. Oh my god Jace, I hate you." Simon growled,
"Okay. Whilst you two fight, Magnus go and do your tracking spell." Luke suggested,
"Aww, I wanted to watch." I pouted,
"Don't worry, I'll tell you what happens." Luke chuckled.I walked away to the kitchen and focused on Alec's face. I tried to zone out the sound of Jace and Simon, keeping my mind on his voice, his face, his smell.
The vision came into my head, the tracking spell working. I gasped, knowing where he was.
I ran out of the kitchen and went to the living room where Jace and Simon were still fighting over Clary.
"Guys." I spoke, though no one heard me.
"Guys!" I rose my voice, still no reaction.
"GUYS!" I yelled, yet they continued.I exhaled and decided that it wasn't working.
"For gods sake, will you all listen and stop bickering! I know where Alec is." I let out the rage inside me.
"Where is he?" Jace spoke,
I caught my breathe and told them that he was in a cell in an abandoned cathedral, amongst over rotting bodies.
"We need to go. Now."
"Uh, you're going to need an address?" Simon exclaimed,
"I know of an abandoned cathedral. I slept in it, before finding you. It's in the north side, though it's quite far." River explained.
"Well then, let's go."
"Uhh, I don't know if we can all fit in my van?"
"We don't need your van. If river knows where it is, then she can create a portal there." I exclaimed,
I nodded over to her, and she understood. She stood up from the sofa and walked over to the wall. Her red eyes lit up as she created a portal.
Everyone jumped through. I walked through after Simon, River following behind.
I landed on my feet, standing next to Jace, who brushed off his clothes. Everyone stared at the cathedral in front of us.
It had broken windows and graffiti written across the walls. The sky was a dark grey, reflecting onto the dull, rotting walls. A broken statue of a devil protruded on the archway.
We stepped forward, our feet crunching against the broken stain-glass window shards on the floor.
"Please, be my guest." Simon extended his arm, pointing towards the door.
"Oh, how gentlemen-like." I rolled my eyes,
I pushed the doors open, the creaking door sending echoes bouncing across the room.
The room had pews, all lined up in a similar distance. The walls were covered in ripped paintings of religious scenes, alongside the paintings were small shelves, holding candles that haven't been lit in a few hundred years.
Up ahead was a small alter and a confession room. Everyone was quiet, the only sound was the wind whistling.
A door on the right opened, a follower stepping through.
"Nice to see you made it." He smirked, and left the room again.
"I guess our visit was expected." I muttered,
We followed the follower through to another room, leading into a small space with a casket sat in the centre.
"How lovely to see you all here!" One of the followers replied,
"Where is Valentine?"
"Valentine is not available at the moment. However, Alec is waiting for you."
"Where is he?" I growled,
"Ahh.. warlock, do you really think it would be that easy?"
"I have to get going, but, you all have fun." He smirked.
Something glistened on his wrist, and then it was gone, along with the rest of him.
"What does he mea-"
The windows above smashed as demons came crashing through, interrupting Jace.
10 demons surrounded us, herding us into a circle.
Jace pulled his seraph blade out, Luke transforming into a wolf.
"Magnus, go find Alec. We will sort this out." Jace called,
The demons flew down at us, though Jace leaped into the air, plunging his blade into the heart. The demon fell to the ground in front of me, the blood spattering. In a few seconds the demon disappeared, going up in flames.
I saw a demon come towards me as I ran towards a small door in the corner. I heard a screech as Luke leaped onto the demon, his claws slicing through.
I ran through the door, river following behind,
"They will be fine. Plus, there could be more up ahead." She exclaimed.
I lit the room up, the candles on the walls casting a dim, yellow light over us.
The hallway stopped a brick wall blocking the walkway. Next to me was a two doors, one leading into the darkness, the other leading into a large space.
"Which one do we go through?"
I opened the door into darkness and cast a light spell, the room illuminating.
I paced through a thin walkway, turning corners at the bends. Eventually I found myself in a small room with no windows. In the corner was a cage, too far away for me to see the contents inside.
I moved closer, and created a small flame that was enough to see.
"Alec." I whispered,
Inside the cage was Alec's faint body, dry blood staining his clothes. His face was dark from mud and slashes. He was stood up, two chains holding his arms, showing a sinister symbol of the crucifixion.
"We need to get him out of there!" River gasped,
I saw little chance of survival, but my mind blocked the thought out, only focusing on his face. My mind flickered back to his happy, healthy face that smiled at me as I entered the room.
I broke the door chains, the lock flying to the floor.
As I broke one of the chains, I felt a heat wave from behind me. I turned to see the room blazing red and orange as the fire spread up the walls, hissing, reaching closer to us.
