Alec POV:
I could sense Magnus. I could smell his sweet, cinnamon scent, hear his soft yet powerful voice that calms me every time I hear it. I sensed his fear, and wanted to reach out to him, tell him I'm alive, but I felt stiff, unable to move.
I tried to speak but the pain was too unbearable.
Since I first passed out, I had been unable to move, yet I could hear everyone around me.
I felt like I was in a coma, my body unable to function correctly.
I felt heat against my skin, the taste of sweat as it rolled down my face.
"I am not leaving this place without him."
Magnus' voice called out, demanding to whoever was also standing there. My hearing was muffled, unable to hear the other person, yet I could hear Magnus. I felt sad, my heart aching, not just from the pain but from hearing how scared and sad he sounded. I miss his sweet, innocent voice.
I felt dizzy again, my head spinning.
I felt one of my arms drop, the chains bursting as they were blown off. The other chain broke, causing me to fall to the hard, concrete floor.
I felt arms around me, tugging on my arms, forcing me to my feet. I tried to help, wanting to get Magnus out before someone or something hurts him.
I felt another pair of hands go around me, and, luckily, they managed to drag me away, slowly.
I felt pain shoot through me. I could smell the dry blood on my shirt, mixed with dirt.
Behind me, I felt the fires tongue attack me, burning my back. I tried to scream out but nothing worked.
As we got nearer, I heard recognisable voices. I heard the sound of Jace, his growling as he, assumedly, attacked a demon. I heard over voices but they began to become quieter, to the point of inaudible sounds. I felt paralysed and useless, unable to help them.

Magnus POV:
I felt the fire slashing at me, my body stinging. We got to the rest of the group, where they were fighting the last few demons, whilst keeping away from the fire, roaring up.
I walked to the entrance, avoiding any demons. Up above me I heard a loud crackle, sounding like a record scratching. I heard Jace shout me to move, noticing the falling structure.
I jerked away just in time as a large pillar fell in front of us, blazing as the fire spread along it. I felt hot, trapped in a room full of fire.
"We can't get out!" Izzy wailed,

I looked around for something, anything, to help get us out.
"Make a portal?" Luke suggested,
"I can't. I have lost too much energy, the heat is causing me to weaken."
I heard Jace curse under his breath,
"Look! There's a small window, I'm sure we can jump up and squeeze through." River pointed at the wall,
"I can't. We won't be able to move Alec."
Everyone looked down, not knowing what to do.
I knew that the more time we wasted, the more likely Alec won't recover. I could sense what everyone was thinking; leave Alec, try and find another way in to save him when they get outside.
"No. We are not leaving Alec. That's out of the question. We do not leave someone behind. Especially Alec right now. Can't you see the pain he has been through? Can't you see that, if we don't get out soon, he will not make it through. I am not leaving here unless Alec is safe." I barked,
Everyone looked stunned at me, as if they have never heard me shout like that.
The fire was spreading, reaching closer to us as it slivered across the floor. We all took a step back, all feeling vulnerable as we stood together.
"What do we do?" I whispered,
"Wait, look! There's another door, we could try and find an exit that way. There always has to be another fire exit?" Izzy suggested.

We decided that was the best idea, and the only idea. Jace and Luke rushed over and helped to lift Alec. We ran through the fire, trying to bear the pain as it nipped at our legs.
We ran through the long corridors, all grunting from the pressure and heat. I kept turning to check on Alec, but he hasn't changed. That can be good or bad.
"Wait, here!" I pointed towards a door at the end.
We ran, our pace getting faster as we neared, the sight of sky and sunlight giving us hope. Izzy burst through the door first, then river, who laughed with joy. I ran through, followed by Alec, Luke and Jace.
Simon came round, stating that he heard cries,
"Is everything okay?" He looked over at our happy and relieved faces. His eyes turned to Alec's body, "Hey, Alec's back!"
Luke and Jace laid him on soft grass, unable to hold him any longer.
"My energy is too weak at the moment to create a portal, nor can I heal him yet." I moaned,
"Well, is there a way to hurry it up?" Jace snapped, impatiently,
"Don't you think I would of done it in a heartbeat if there was?"
"Try using the bond-thingy, if it does anything to help." River pointed out,
I nodded and we held hands. A mysterious sandy-yellow light cast around us as we did so.
After the light faded away, until there was nothing there, I felt the same sensation I did before.
River stood up and shook, obviously feeling the thrill the same way.
She began casting a portal, her eyes glowing.
I glanced down at Alec. He looked so peaceful, minus all the cuts and dirt, but past the wounds was a sleeping innocent boy, dreaming whilst we fought. I bet it's nice to be able to leave the world, leave all your problems and have a peaceful, tranquil sleep.
"Magnus, we are ready." I felt rivers hand on my shoulder,
I turned and walked through the portal, Jace and Luke carrying Alec, following once again.
I came through the portal and entered my apartment. I moved out the way, rushing over to the ingredients shelf. I pulled out different ingredients, throwing them together, though careful of what I put in. Jace and Luke carried Alec to the bed, laying him on top of the bed sheets.
I rushed through, shoving the others out of the way. They stood watching as i performed the healing spell, a light purple 'bubble' cast over Alec, like a shell.
I clicked my fingers and the bubble disappeared.
"It will take a few days, hopefully, to recover." I sighed from exhaustion.
I moved out of the way, into the living room, hoping for peace and quiet. Luke and Simon left, feeling that Alec should be with family at the moment. I could hear izzy's cries from the bedroom, whilst Jace remained silent. River flopped onto the sofa next to me,
"I wish I had someone who loved me like you love Alec." She huffed,
I raised my eyebrow,
"You two are perfect together, and you were willing to die for him. When you have someone that will not stop until you are safe, and are eager to take that risk, then that's love." She explained, adding, "I was watching you. I have never seen you so scared before, well, I haven't been around for long, but I can easily see that Alec has had a huge effect on you, unlike the other ones you have dated. You had a look that showed you have never felt so afraid, so full of pain for anyone, before him. So, you and Alec, you better stay together, or else I will destroy you."
She lip spoke the word 'malec' making me laugh.
"Well, thank you for that."
"Hey, Magnus! Can i have a word?"

I turned around to see Jace, pointing towards the terrace. I followed him outside, wondering why he brought me out here.
Before I even knew what was happening, he envelopes me in a hug. Jace. Hugging me. That was something new.
"I could feel the pain he was feeling, though clearly not as bad. I just wanted to say thank you. And without you, Alec would have- have died, and I couldn't bear the thought of that. Magnus, I have no idea how I will repay you." Jace blurted out,
"Having Alec back and alive is the only thing I need." I smiled, pleased with that,
Jace grinned, "Magnus, I'm sure Alec has told you already, but, you should also hear it from me. Since you have entered Alec's life, he has been happier, he smiles more, he's nicer and more open, he even hugged clary and laughed at her joke. That's how big a deal you are to him. Magnus, I'm his parabatai, I can feel his emotions. I can feel his happiness, I can feel how complete and whole he feels."

I smiled, though, inside, I was screaming.
Jace walked away but I called him back,
"What happened with your parabatai rune?"
"I have no clue as to who it was, but some powerful warlock was able to weaken the bond. I can't tel Alec yet, but, the bond isn't strong anymore, that's why I was scared because I couldn't tell if he was dead or alive."
I nodded, signalling that he can leave now.
