Y/N's POV

Several days passed since the rockfall. Even though all the wounds had healed by the end of the second day, Dr. Grey refused to let me get on my feet. Either she or Wash was in the room with me at all times. I didn't know how to feel. Part of me enjoyed being with the dork while the other part rejected his entire existence. I looked to the clock.

11:18

The door opened and Wash walked in. Why didn't you bring food, you asshole? "How do ya feel?" He asked.

"Fine," I've been fine since day two!

"That's good to hear. Anyway, I spoke to Grey. She said you can leave the infirmary and walk around if you'd like to."

"Ok. Sounds good," I said with no emotion at all.

We walked to the mess hall in complete silence. As we sat down, I asked Wash, "where are the reds and blues?"

"Oh uh Tucker said he wanted to check out one the alien towers on the planet. He didn't say which one."

The rest of lunch was filled with small talk. A few hours later Wash said he wanted to show me something on the other side of the planet. I was reluctant to trust him, but decided to give him another chance.

It was the Director who did this to me, not the soldier. Who am I kidding? All of them knew! But none knew the pain. I sighed. Wash hasn't done anything but try to help me though. Eh screw it, I'll trust you for now Agent Washington. We got in a small pelican, and took off. "I hope to make it there around sunset," he said.

19:56

We landed and got out of the pelican. Neither of us were wearing armor. "Perfect timing," Wash said, "the sun sets in about 20 minutes."

He took my hand and led me down a path between two cliffs. It was barely wide enough for us to walk comfortably side by side.

"Almost there," he said.

"And where exactly is there," I said smiling. Just as I did, the narrow path opened to a beautiful view. "Woah," I said astonished by the beauty of this planet. "This is the most beautiful painting of nature, of all time."

We stood on a nature-made balcony that rested no less than 40 feet above the ground. We could see for miles and miles. Not a single square inch of this view had been altered by man or alien. The sky became a collage of colors. The scarlet fire of the sun mixed with the blue ocean of the sky, giving that area of the sky a purple hugh. Two different elements combining to create something beautiful. "I must be dreaming," I said to Wash.

"No," he said putting his muscular arm around my shoulder. "Its real."

I didn't object. I don't know why I didn't. I wanted to, but something about him made me feel safe. Something about him allowed me to escape the pain from the past. I rested my head on his chest, and closed my eyes.

"Wash?" I asked

"Yeah?"

"A, uh, a few days ago," I don't want to talk about it. "You asked me about what was bothering me and all." I'm afraid to... "And I think, I think that I can trust you." Please don't prove me wrong.

"Of course, Y/N. I care about you. I'm here for you."

"Ok, so..."
