29. Otakus

You know that feeling when you click on the user that commented something rude, and just felt curious about what kind of person they are?

Yeah? Well I do that a LOT, since I have trouble restraining myself without a reason.
I usually see the user's age, which is 90 percent around 11 to 14, and just keep chanting that fact inside my head, waiting for my fist to loosen up.
They're just children, they're just children, they're just children, they're just children, they're just children........

THEN, I see their 'fandoms'.

And you know what I witness?
An extremely over exaggerated sentence stating "I'M AN OTAKU!!!!!!!!!!"

Nope, no can do, I'm officially pissed.

First of all— no wait, I'll just state the facts.

One. REAL JAPANESE DON'T STATE THAT THEY'RE AN OTAKU YOU NUMBNUT.
A friend of mine is a hardcore Re!born fan.
She knows she's an otaku, she spends around five hundred dollars a month on DVD's and merchandise.
Does she blurt it out?
No.
It's extremely difficult to explain the culture, because if you've never lived in Japan and conversed in JAPANESE NOT ENGLISH with a Japanese before, then you are one hundred percent not going to be able to understand my country.

In Japan, Anime and Manga are considered culture. Yes, a lot of people enjoy it.

But being an 'otaku' is something that simply does NOT make it out to the surface.

Why do you think the word translates to 'House'?????

No one blurts out that kind of stuff because it's supposed to stay inside the house and between private conversations.
JUST FREAKING STOP BEING A WANNABE

Next, just because you watch anime doesn't mean you are an otaku.
Like, where did that even come from?

Y'all are crazy if you think everyone in Japan is an otaku.
That's like saying everyone in America is blonde.
Like, you preach about diversity and racial prejudice but you do it anyway? DO YOUR EYES REFLECT NOTHING YOU EGG????!!!! IS YOUR BRAIN FILLED WITH GARBAGE??????!!!!!!

What pisses me off the most is that these so called 'otakus' are the ones blabbing about on other people's boards, reading requests, advertising, self promotion, update requests, etc etc etc...
