30. Translating.

Translating languages is HARD.

I don't care if you start saying something like
"But Noise, you speak FOUR languages fluently!!!!! They should be the same shouldn't they???????"

NO.

EXCUSE ME??????

Let me set things straight.
In my head, (And my sister's...And my mother's....And basically everything bilingual/trilingual/etc person I know...) there is no such thing as 'Language'.

Whether it be Chinese or Japanese or English, in my head, in my brain all of it is categorized as 'Words'.

So when I talk with my sister, both of us are speaking like this
"Hey sis, (English) (English), (Chinese) (Japanese) (English) (Taiwanese) (Japanese)"

Ya dig?

We automatically choose the words that are easiest to pronounce, or just match the flow.

Sometimes, the word I'm looking for doesn't exist in other languages.

There are SO MANY WORDS LIKE THAT.

So when someone tells me "Why don't you know the translation for this word? Are you really a native speaker?????"
I just want to rip my hair out from the roots.

Yeah? Why don't you try to have Four Languages take up space in your brain???

You want to know something that bad???

LEARN THE FREAKING LANGUAGE YOURSELF YOU INSOLENT PRICK.

If you're going to go on and on and on about my translation being bad, why don't you show me how it's done Oh great interpreter???????
