18. Extremely Pissed.

You know, I've never really been angry about the so called 'White washed characters' before, because let's be honest, we're all able to focus on the plot more when the character is more similar to you.

So when an American or British or Canadian or whatever else movie director, I don't care if it's a Japanese or Taiwanese, decides to use all-westerners for their movie, I don't really understand why everyone gets into a hissy fit.

Let's be honest would YOU watch an all-Japanese-actor movie?

With the weird accents and small expressions.

Would you?

I'm gonna guess the answer is no.

So, I understand the decisions.

But when they start using WESTERN ACTORS for ASIA BASED MOVIES.
Yeah, that's when I start getting questions.
Like, really big fat questions filled with red blood up to the point where they're almost gonna burst.

What kind of movies are you talking about you ask?

My grandparents are Taiwanese.

My grandfather comes from one of the oldest families in Taiwan.

Do you understand how angry I am that someone would have the nerve to take something so precious and valuable to us and make it into some kind of joke?

And do you realize how scandalized I feel when that 'someone' is a Chinese???????

Yes, I know. I'm Taiwanese by blood, they're two different things.

But I'm proud of the great wall, of the songs from ancient times, of the great warriors and geniuses of China.

You will not make me happy if you decide to make fun of them.

This is one of the main reasons why I have trouble with just liking America.
