The plan was edited after that, and it looked almost better than the last one. Everything was the same except the three wizards were trading places with some of the demigods. Percy would get everyone across, and remain on the Manhattan side of the East River while Annabeth and Hermione would be on the Brooklyn side, waiting for everyone to return. Harry would be with Hazel, taking Frank’s role as they watched the city. Jason and Piper would guide Nico through the city, who would be talking to the Egyptians. Frank and Ron would remain on the ship, in case there was trouble.

“Not the best plan, but with Leo gone, it’ll have to do.” Jason stood at the table in Mess Hall, looking around at everyone.

“Remind me again why Ihave to talk with them?” Nico asked, slightly annoyed. “I prefer the dead over the living.”

“Like your fashion sense?” Leo popped his head into the doorway, grinning. “Thought I’d say goodbye before I head off.”

Jason growled. “Leo…”

He raised his hands in defense. “Sorry, had to say something. The tension was going to kill me.” He ducked out of the room laughing while Jason proceeded to throw his glass at him, missing and hitting the door.

“Calm down, kid.” Ron said, pointing his wand at the mess and cleaning it up. “I thought it was funny. I bet he’s the life of the party.”

“Oh, you have no idea.” Hazel rolled her eyes. “But I think Nico does have a point. Some of these positions are pretty weird. For example, why isn’t Frank with me?”

“Because he and wizard have some issues to resolve.”

“In the middle of a recruit?” Frank snorted. “Thought that one through, didn’t you?”

“Guys, can we not argue?” Annabeth asked, rolling her eyes. “We need to get this done asap, and you guys really aren’t helping.”

“Thank you!” Jason said, gesturing at her. “See? That’s what we need. Positive attitudes!”

“Though I would be more comfortable working with Percy.” She muttered quietly.

“Oh my gods!” Jason yelled, storming out of the room.

“Told you.” Frank said, shrugging. “Oh well, I’m going to change into something more casual and comfortable before we walk to our deaths. Anyone up for Walmart?”

“Well, there it is.” Percy looked out across the East River, feeling the wind blow against his face. There were people everywhere, taking photos and eating food: regular tourists. He turned to the group. “You think a regular boat will work?”

“Well, if it floats…” Jason said, rolling his eyes.

“I meant,” Percy said, narrowing his eyes, “that a regular boat might not withstand the attack of a monster in the river, or a shield that might blow us off the earth.”

“We can enchant it.” Hermione said, stepping forward. “Well, at least Ican. Ron and Harry were never very good in school.”

“Is that why I got a better grade in potions and defeated the Dark Lord?” Harry asked, tilting his head. “Multiple times?”

She pursed her lips. “Point taken. Now, are you going to defend yourself, or are you going to help get a boat?”

“Both.” he grabbed Ron and headed over to a booth giving out ferry tickets.

“Ill go with in case they need to be persuaded.” Piper said, jogging after them.

“Well, not that we have that taken care of,” Jason walked up next to Percy, facing everyone. “Any questions?’
