"Why do I have to sing?" I asked the chorus teacher again. She is actually making me sing with her class for this showcase.

"I love your voice and you will help us sound better ", she said.

"Kyla has a pretty voice too", I said and pouted.

"Yes but she is dancing ", she said.

"We're in the same class therefore I have to dance too", I said.

"Just please sing ", she begged me.

"Fine", I said finally giving in.

"I have to perform that  Janette and Raheem play", Juliya said.

"Romeo and Juliet ", I corrected her.

"They die at the end", Kyla said.

"Raheem, Raheem-", Juliya said.

"Romeo", I said, sighing.

"I have a friend name Raheem and he is always rapping ", Juliya said.

"I have to go on stage ", Kyla said.

Kyla walked on stage with a few other students. They have to open up the show. They're what we call the opening act.

"I don't like this song", I said to the chorus teacher.

"Please sing it", the teacher said.

I read over the lyrics to chandelier and twisted my lips. These are some very high notes. I can't sing this shit.

Kyla walked backstage with a towel. She looked at me and sighed.

"Sing this ", I said to her.

"What's that?" She asked me.

"Chandelier", I said.

"I have one of those in my room ", Juliya said, passing us with a toothbrush in her hand.

"I can't sing that, baby ", she said to me.

"Please do this for me", I begged her. I had to pout because I knew that would seal the deal.

Kyla rolled her eyes, "You can be a pain in the ass sometimes ".

"You're the best sister in the whole world ", I said.

"Don't state facts ", Kyla said and then she snatched the lyrics out of my hand.

"Can we go car shopping after this?", I asked Kyla.

"Yeah, I need something mediocre for that music video ", Kyla said.

I wrote another song and this one will have a music video. The title of the song is hard life. Based off the title, you can tell the song is about our problems in life and the many set backs that led to our major comebacks.

"Just get a honda or something ", I said.

"Get on the stage now", the chorus teacher said to Kyla.
