Sometimes, trying to pack for a trip with Sidney was like packing for a trip with a five year old. Of course, we would be there for a few weeks. I knew he would forget something important.
"Do you have everything?" I asked for the fifth time in the past hour. I could tell he was getting tired of me, but I didn't want to be halfway to Russia and he realizes he's missing something.
"Yes, I have everything," he mumbled as he grabbed his hat from the dresser before coming to stand in front of me. I could tell he was stressed. The amount of pressure that was on him to win old for Canada was overwhelming, I'm sure. I didn't really know how to help, other than supporting him through everything.
"I think the real question is, do you have everything?"
"No. I think I forgot something," I grabbed the collar of his jacket and pulled him on top of me, wrapping my legs around his waist. He pressed his lips to mine and licked into my mouth, not stopping until either of us were out of breath. I fumbled with his belt as he kissed my neck, leaving small marks every once and a while.
"We're going to be late," I told him, smiling. He didn't think I was as funny as I did.
"Tease," he narrowed his eyes and rolled off of me, "You're making it up later."
"Yeah, we'll see how Canada performs," I winked and went to the kitchen for an apple before we were off.
He had lightened up a little, but the airport just made it worse. Security was tight, which I was thankful for, but it made everything such a hassle. I was getting a headache from everything and I didn't even have to do much.
"Well, Mrs. Crosby, are you excited for your first Olympics?" Sidney asked me as I was getting stray hairs off my blanket.
"I am, Mr. Crosby. I'm excited to see my husband play some hockey.. And for Paul and Brooks to bring back the gold," I smiled at him, thinking I was funny.
"You're hilarious," he rolled his eyes and held out his hand for me to grab.
"Just because I'm married to the captain of team Canada, does not mean I will cheer against my country."
"What if you had to choose though. Between Canada and the US?"
"I'd pick Russia. Geno's my favorite player anyway."
"Thanks babe."
I scooted closer to the seat divider and Sid wrapped his arm around me. I was hoping he woud get some sleep on the plane, he needed it. He rested his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes.
"You know I'll support you no matter what," I whispered before kissing the top of his head, "I love you, Sidney."
I stayed with his family while we were over there. It was nice being with them, but sleeping alone when he's still so close wasn't something I enjoyed. He spent most of the time with his team, but we would grab something to eat or just relax after one of the games. As much as I would love to say I was completely loyal to my husband, I 'borrowed' one of Pauly's sweatshirts for the USA vs. Canada game. Sid made fun of me for it, but I knew he didn't care.
While we were there, I stayed away from reading anything written about my husband. They would just piss me off. Canada made it to the gold medal game, did anything else really matter?
We found Sid after they won the gold. He was still in his sweaty gear and holding his skates but that didn't stop me from running and jumping into his arms. I was so happy for him, I started crying.
"You did it!"
He didn't say anything, just kissed me. I ran my hands through his sweaty hair and we didn't come up for air until someone cleared their throat. I giggled and he set me down.
He held my hand as we talked to his family and family of his teammates. After he showered, we went to eat with his family. They would be heading back that night, but we still had one more here in Sochi.
I expected Sidney to pass out as soon as we got to the hotel room, but he was more awake than me. I was trying to read a book when he took it out of my hand and climbed on top of me.
"I think it's time to make up for your little stunt before we left," he told me between kisses. I wrapped my legs around his waist and bit my lip. It was going to be a long night.

I was in a mood last night and that's all I have to say.
