We leave the prom laughing, tonight was okay. Other than the thing with Kaden and Josh.
"I can't believe you slipped and broke that guy's leg,"I said to Mason laughing.
He laughs with me "Me too I shouldn't be laughing, but the way he screamed I'm never gonna get it out of my head I'm gonna be laughing about it forever."
"He was like ahhhhh my leg just fell off,"I said laughing harder than ever.
"And then there was Isabel who decided doing a cartwheel with heels on was a good idea,"Slater said dying of laughter.
"Heyyyy! I didn't mean to it just happened. That guy was going around me, and for some reason I put my arms out and tried to do a cartwheel and died,"Isabel said.
"Guys you're killing me how did you guys manage to do this,"I said trying to catch my breath,
We get to the limo and all just sit down, taking a deep breath.
"Where's Kaden,"Mason asked?
"He's over there see he's coming this way,"Slater said.
"Oh haha I forgot about him,"Mason said.
"Me too,"Isabel said.
"I think we all did,"Josh said.
I look at him walking towards the limo, he gets in and notices me again, he doesn't say anything, but sits down in silence.
"What's got you under the weather,"Mason asked?
"Oh nothing what are you talking about I'm fine,"Kaden said.
"Ok if you say so,"Mason said.
We get back to the hotel, and when I get in my room I immediately change into comfy clothes.
"I'm exhausted,"I said laying in bed.
"Me too,"Isabel said crashing next to me.
"How was your night,"I asked her?
"It was good Slater and I had our first kiss,"She said grinning.
"I knowwww how cute,"I said.
Abie runs out of the bathroom and onto her bed.
"Heyyy what's got you so happy,"I asked? "Isabel told me about the break up."
"Dang does everyone know? Whatever. Well I met this boy, and he was all cool, and we had so much fun wrecking a classroom, he told me he'd be back, and he never went back. But I'm happy because it was just so much fun,"I said.
"Was he hot,"Isabel asked?
"Well....yes he was,"I said.
"Hmm. Good. Details,"I said.
We fell asleep, and I woke up to the sun shining through the window beautiful. I need to talk to Josh. I sneak out of the room trying not to wake everyone, and run to Josh's room , when I run into Kaden tripping, but he catches me.
"Woah are you okay,"He asked?
"Oh uh I'm fine,"I said.
I got out of his arms, and looked at him awkward. But like I couldn't help it.
"So um I should get going,"Kaden said.
"Wait where are you going,"I asked him?
"Look I can't stop thinking about you, and me pretending to not care really sucks, so I need to get out of here I can't do this,"Kaden said.
"Really?"I smiled. "Don't leave."
"Why? You're engaged I'm not screwing this up for you guys I need to get out of here,"Kaden said.
"Can't we talk at least,"I asked him?
"What's there to talk about,"He said.
"Well.....I just don't want you to leave. Please let's go get breakfast everyone's asleep except for us,"I said.
"Fine. But just breakfast, then I'm gone,"He said.
He put his bags back in his room, and runs back out to me. We go to the Ice cream shop near the hotel, and get Ice cream, then we go to a park and walk around.
"I can't believe we're eating ice cream for breakfast,"I said giggling.
"Haha what can I say rules were meant to be broken,"Kaden said.
"Yep,"I said smiling at him.
"Well how does the ring look,"He asked me. "Congratulations by the way."
I show him the ring "Thanks, but uh... I don't know something doesn't feel right."
"What do you mean,"He asked?
"You shouldn't of told me you loved me last night, now that dance... that night is all I can think about I just can't shake it, why didn't you tell me sooner,"I said.
"Because I don't know, I couldn't... I was just scared, or something,"Kaden said.
"I wish you would've. I guess it's whatever now,"I said looking down sadly.
"Yeah I guess,"Kaden said.
"I don't wanna be like this with Josh I feel like I'm cheating, I'm telling him everything maybe then this....feeling will go away,"I said.
"I wish that's how it would be,"Kaden said. "Life's a little more complicated than that."
"Yeah, but it's worth a try,"I said.
I see a dog.
"Can I pet it,"I asked the owner?
"Yeah sure go Ahead,"The owner said.
I pet the dog, and it starts barking like crazy, the dog was pulling so hard to get away, the owner let go of the leash. We chase the dog trying to get it back, and I fall on my face my ice cream going all over it. Kaden stops and helps me up he laughs.
"Looks like you need some help,"He said.
"Maybe a little,"I said laughing.
He helps me up "Looks like the ice cream, tried to eat you."
"Haha are you making fun of me,"I said.
"Maybe a little, okay a lot,"He said.
"You know what happens when people make fun of me,"I said. "It's not good.
He chuckled "And why is that?"
I grab his ice cream from his hands, and shove it in his face. I start laughing.
"I'm gonna get you,"He said.
I ran away from him laughing, but he caught up to me and we rolled to the ground. He put the ice cream in my hair, and we both just sat there laughing our heads off.
"You look like you just played in mud,"I said to Kaden laughing.
"You look like a pink unicorn,"Kaden said laughing along with me.
Our hand touch, and we turn to look at each other.
"Kat.... you've got hair stuck on your ice cream covered face,"He said.
I laugh "Really?"
"Yes really,"He said.
He takes it off.
"I'm gonna miss you,"I said to him.
"I'm gonna miss you too,"He said.
"At least tell me you're going to my wedding,"I said.
"I don't know,"He said.
"Pleaseeee,"I said.
"I'll think about it,"He said smiling.
"Yayy,"I said.
"I never said yes,"Kaden said.
"Come on,"I said!
"Fine,"He said laughing a bit.
"Good,"I said. "You'll get to go to Hawaii."
"Hawaii sounds nice,"He said.
"It is,"I said. "You'll love it."
"So you're going to BYU,"Kaden asked?
"Yup and you're gonna go to Utah right,"I asked?
"Yep so we're rivals,"Kaden said.
"Haha I guess we are,"I said.
We stand up, and hug each other. I never wanted to let him go, but I did.
"I better go talk to Josh,"I said.
"Yeah I better get ready to go my flights gonna leave,"Kaden said.
"Yep don't leave without saying goodbye,"I said.
"I won't,"He said. "Be quick though."
"Don't worry I'll be fast,"I said.
We run back to the hotel, and I knock on Josh's hotel room.
"Hi Kat,"Josh said. "Why are you up so early it's 9 a.m."
"I need to talk to you,"I said to him. "And not here."
He goes out of his hotel room, and go downstairs to sit on a bench outside of the hotel.
"So what's up,"He asked?
"I...I guess what I'm trying to do is tell you I'm not ready to be married or engaged or whatever, I'm young I wanna do lots more before I get married I'm 18. Please understand,"I said.
"Oh well that's okay take as much time as you want,"Josh said.
"I need a break.... I'm leaving the road trip to go to Hawaii,"I said.
"Really? Do you want me to come with you,"He asked?
"No I need some time to think, I've still got these unresolved feelings for Kaden still, and I don't wanna be with you knowing my hearts not all the way with you,"I said. "I wanna be honest with you."
"Oh.....well you better get packing then, you've got a long journey ahead,"Josh said sadly. "I respect your decision, but I need to be free, I can't be in something like this it hurts to much wondering who you're gonna pick, so I'll make it easy for you, and tell you I'm not an option anymore."
"Josh I'm really sorry. I didn't expect any of this to happen, well good luck then. We'll still be friends right,"I asked?
"Always,"He said smiling.
I hand him the ring back, and we hug. I smile at him.
"Good luck on your journey,"I said,
"And good luck on yours,"He said.
"Stay classy,"I said.
He laughed "Don't worry always."
"Good,"I said.
We both cry a little, then he lets me go. I go up to see Kaden.
"Hey. Leaving so soon,"I said holding my bags.
"Where are you going,"He asked?
"I'm going to Hawaii,"I said. "This road trips been great, but I've had enough for now."
"Is Josh going with you,"Kaden asked?
"Nope we broke off the engagement,"I said.
"Oh. I'm sorry,"He said.
"I guess I'll see you in a while,"I said walking away sadly.
I wanted him to tell me how he felt now, I wanted him to chase after me, but nothing.
So I went to my room to say bye to the girls, and leave for a very long time.
"Where are you going,"Isabel asked waking up?
"I'm leaving for Hawaii,"I said.
"Wait without me,"She said.
"I didn't know you wanted to go,"I said.
"Duh I do,"She said.
"Me too,"Abie said.
"Really,"I asked?
"Yeahhhhh,"They both said."
"Let's us get ready to leave, and we'll be out soon,"Isabel said.
"Okay, but hurry,"I said.
"Okay,"They both said.
I wait outside for them, and they both come out wearing shorts, and sunglasses.
"We're ready,"Abie said.
Mason runs out his room, and see's us.
"I need to get to Haley now I miss her so much,"Mason said. "I've realized what I want."
"Woah Prince Charming you're leaving,"I asked?
"Yes I need to see her now, and tell her how much I love her,"Mason said.
"Well good luck we'll miss you, we're going to Hawaii,"Isabel said.
"Have fun,"Abie said. "Also tell Haley Hi."
"We can all be driven to the airport,"I said.
"Yuss,"Mason said.
"Is Josh driving home alone,"Isabel asked?
"I don't know,"I said. "We canceled our engagement."
"Wait really,"Abie said. "Why?"
"I need some time to deal with this, I need a vacation away from them, and Josh doesn't wanna be part of it anymore, so we are broken up for good,"I said.
We all go into the van one last time all together I'm gonna miss it I remember when we just started this road trip it was just last week. Wow.
"I'm gonna miss you Slater text me everyday,"Isabel said crying to Slater.
"I'm gonna miss you too Izzie it's gonna be okay,"He said.
"Don't forget me,"Isabel said.
"Not possible,"Slater said.
We get to the airport, and say our goodbyes.
"Guys this has been quite a journey I'm Gonna miss you all,"I said tearing up.
"Me too. I don't want you guys to leave me, but we've all got place to go now,"Isabel said crying.
We all hug crying.
"I can't believe it's over,"Abie said.
"You guys better call everyday,"Mason said.
"Don't go breaking people's legs,"I said to Mason laughing and crying a bit.
"Haha and don't go doing cartwheels Isabel,"Slater said,
"Awww I'm gonna miss you guys so much,"Isabel said.
"Remember when our car got stolen,"I laugh.
"It all seems so funny now,"Josh said.
"Yeah and then you went to save it,"I said.
"Good times,"Mason said laughing.
"Well I guess this is the end,"I said. "You guys don't do anything bad."
"No promises,"Mason said.
"You guys are the most amazing friends ever,"I said.
"Aww I don't wanna leave,"Abie said starting to cry.
"Stop you're gonna get me crying again,"I said.
"Bye Kaden,"I said hugging him, and taking one last look into his beautiful eyes.
We all start crying again, then finally stop hugging, and we all leave. I take one last look at the van it was our van, I smile as I remember all our memories. Then we board the plane for Honolulu Hawaii as a new adventure awaited us.
