the accident *Flashback*(before the story)

January 17th a few years ago was the day before the accident happend. The last day I Lena Holly saw my mom and dad. It wasn't even a particularly good day but I'll remember this day forever...
When I woke up early that morning I could automatically make out the smell of pancakes so I hopped out of bed and went straight to the kitchen. When I walked into the kitchen I saw my dad standing by the stove making sure the pancakes don't burn and mom was getting orange juice from the refrigerator. My dad looked up and saw me and a big smile spread across his face "Good morning sweetheart" he said enthusiastically. After my mom heard him say that she whipped her head around "Honey you're up," she said " I don't think I've ever seen you up so early." She giggled.

"I get up plenty early!" I said teasing

" Yea okay... sleeping beauty." I rolled my eyes at her comeback before saying "Dad help me out here." My dad stood there with his gaze on me and my mother as if he was thinking about what he would say before he answered. Then he finally came up with "You haven't always been an early bird like your mother here" yea my dad is a dork. Well he was anyways...
"Fine maybe I do like sleep but I like food more so when is all this gonna be done?"
"I've barely even started the pancakes I thought I had at least half an hour." My dad said.

"I guess I'll go watch some T.V. or something then."

"Alright honey we'll call you in when it's ready" my mom said obviously happy that my dad had proved her point.

I walked into the living room and dropped down on the couch. Our couch was old and not as comfy as it used to be so it took me a minute to get settled. When I had finally situated myself I realized the remote was on the other side of the room. "Are you kidding me!" I mumbled to myself annoyed at the situation. I got up to get the remote to soon learn that the batteries had died. At this point I didn't even want to watch T.V anymore so I walked to my room to start reading my all time favorite book "The last song" for the 5th time.

A little while later my mom came into my room and whispered "Food's ready."
I jumped up excited ready to get food in my belly! When I got to the door my mom screamed
"Bet I can beat you to the kitchen."

"A piece of Bacon says you can't."

"You're on."

We bolted through the hallways and came to a clumsy stop when we were in the kitchen.

"Now where's my bacon." my mom asked.

"No fair you got a head start." I pleaded

"We had a deal."

"Fine." I handed her a piece of Bacon from the plate that had already been made for me "Here you go." My mom snatched the beautiful sliver of Bacon out of my hand and took a big bite
"Mmmmmm" she taunted me "That's good Lena, that's really good."

After I finished eating I soon Found out that I didn't need the bacon because i was already so full. I went over to the sink and rinsed my plate off. It was sticky from the maple syrup. "Got any plans for today?" My dad asked me
"No I don't believe I do." i giggled "Why do you ask?"

" Me and your mom thought that after we went to the store we could rent a movie or something"

"You don't have to watch one with us if you don't want." my mom chimed in.

"No it's fine, I want to" I said excited

"Okay then. We will go to the store in a few minutes and we should be back within the hour."

"Okay dad, I love you guys" I said

"I love you too." They both said at the same exact time. It was a little weird but they did that a lot and I started to like it.

After my mom and dad had left for the store I went and got batteries for the stupid remote that hated me so much. When I got the darn thing to work I flipped through the channels and decided to just watch Disney. I'd grown up with Disney and Austin and Ally was on so I was happy.

Dad's P.O.V:

"So who is gonna be driving this old wagon today" I asked my wife

"How about you drive the beauty" she laughed as she answered. Her laugh was amazing and she gave it to Lena.

"I was hoping you'd say that"

"I know that's why I said it"

"You know me all to well" I said as I ran over to her side of the car opening her door "Madame" I said to her with the worst French accent there is

"Well thank You Sir"

"You're very welcome" I got in the car and started to drive. We didn't even make it halfway to the store before traffic started to get bad. On top of the busy cars there was also snow on the ground and the roads were Icy and slick.

"Honey be careful" Terra said, that was my wife's name

"Terra I'm trying I'm sorry" I said
As I made a turn to the left we started to spin on a thin sheet of ice. I heard the loud honking of cars around us.

"Terra I'm sorry" I screamed

"I love you" she said "It's okay" it's like she knew
Then everything was black

Lenas P.O.V:
I had been watching T.V for a while before I realized how late it was. It had been a long time after what they said they'd be back by and I started to worry. I called dad.... No answer. I called mom... No answer. My mind went to the worst and they didn't come home that night...
