"Oh honey I'm sorry"

Lenas P.O.V:
When Ethan touched my hand it was like I could feel electricity bolt through my body. I didn't want to think about it anymore so I just took my things and walked out of the room leaving the twins standing there. When I was walking down the halls I heard Grayson shout out to me "Hey, Lena wait up." I didn't stop I just kept walking. I had places to be and people to see. Like for one I haven't even met the lady that might keep me for a few weeks, Sean, Or Cameron. When I walked outside I could see Betty and three other people standing on the deck and I must admit that I was starting to feel a little shy. The girl that I assumed was Lisa came up to me and wrapped her arms around me for a hug. I felt my body tense and I was to shocked to hug back. When Lisa pulled away I relaxed.
"Hi honey I'm Lisa. You must be Lena!" The women said to me
I said nothing. Then a girl closer to my age but still clearly older waved and said "Hey new sis I'm Cameron. You can call me Cam if you want." Cameron had a big smile on her face when she said it.
"I guess everyone in your family has a nickname." I mumble.
"Everyone in our family!"An older man corrected me."I'm sean and once you get comfortable you can call me dad and Lisa mom."I nodded at him. I didn't know what to say so I stood there until I heard the twins push threw the screen door.
"I win!!" Ethan shouted.
"That was a tie bro." Grayson panted
"No way, I was definitely here first!"
"Lena, who got here first?" Grayson asked.
"She wasn't even watching man." Ethan pointed out.
"Lena tell him it was a tie."Grayson pleaded.
I leaned over to Cameron she was just as wordless as I was.
"Which car is yours?" I whispered to her. Cameron looked at me confused but the she answered me and said "the blue van... Why?"
"You'll see."
I was starting to think that this was going to be a good few weeks even though I still wasn't ready to open up. I knew it wouldn't be long before they got tired of me but I thought that I would probably get attached. I know I shouldn't but I barely know them and I already don't want to give any of them up. I've tried being mean so they won't try to take me. I've tried not talking but they make me have to fight a laugh so in this moment I gave in for a little. I pointed to Ethan and Grayson and motioned them towards me with my finger. They both looked at eachother and slowly walked up to me. I dropped all my things on the deck and screamed
"Race ya to the car!" It took the boys a minute to process what happend but they eventually started running and when they did I bolted off. I was in the lead by a lot and decided to do a front flip and kept running. I whipped around and started running backwards just to see the shocked look on their faces. It was great I turned around again and ran full speed to the car. I won the race. I bet they didn't know I was in track for 5 years and did gymnastics up until the accident.
"I think I won." I said as the boys came up panting.
"Do I need to get you guys some water or something... You look a little tired."
I said not being able to contain my laughter.
"You've got a nice laugh." Ethan said still trying to catch his breath. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks.
"...Thanks..." I whispered
"No prob-" Grayson cut Ethan off midsentence
"I'll take that water if it's still an option."
This time it was everyone else walking up to us laughing.
"That was impressive Lena." Cameron said
"You haven't done anything like that since the accident.." Betty said. I've know Betty since I was a kid. I know it's shocking especially since I'm so mean to her. She was my mom's best friend and after a little over two years she decided to take me in until I got my forever home. I fell silent as everyone turned towards me their expressions unreadable. I looked at Betty. I was angry. Why'd she have to mention the accident when I was really trying to give this a shot? Betty looked like something clicked in her head. Like she realized what she said.
"Oh honey I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean-" Betty started talking but I stopped listening after only a few seconds. I ran to the deck, jumped over all my things, opened the door, slammed the door, and went to my room.

Graysons P O.V:

Lena was keeping to herself only minutes ago and then she seemed like she was trying to be nice. She was great so far. I understand why she was reserves but then she tried to hang out and joke with me and E. Then miss Betty said something and Lena looked like she was going to cry. Tears of anger and sadness. I was lost. Then she just ran not saying a word. I was trying to find the words to speak but I couldn't.
"Is she going to be okay?" I heard Ethan whisper.
"Yes, she'll be okay Ethan I just said something I shouldn't have." Betty replied.
"Can I ask what happend?" I spoke up "The accident I mean."
"That's something she will talk to you all about when she is ready." Betty said in a sad voice.
I looked at Ethan and he looked at me. Ethan looked worried. I think he cares about her already. Why wouldn't he? I mean she seems great.
"Should we try to talk to her?" I heard my mom ask Betty.
"No, I think the boys should try to talk to her. She seems most comfortable with them so far." Betty replied.
My mom nodded as if she agreed. I for one was in shock that Betty thought that we should do it. Ethan seemed to be happy though like he wanted to try and talk to her.
"Its true she barely said a word to us." Cameron said. I think she might have been a little jealous. My dad nodded and Betty pointed towards the door.
"She will be in her room. Knock before you go in though." And with that Ethan and I headed for the door to see if Lena was okay.

When we walked into the house I heard a door slam. Lena knew someone was in the house.
"What are we going to say? She is really mad." Ethan seemed really confused. I could tell he really didn't know what to do.
"We just try to talk to her I guess." I answered
"What if she won't talk to us?"
"She will." I reassured him.
"How do you know?" He asked
"I don't..."
Ethan went silent. We started towards Lenas door and I heard the lock click.
"Go away!" Lena shouted
"Its Ethan and Grayson.." Ethan said.
"I don't care who you are.Leave me alone." I heard the sound of tears and I knew Ethan did too.
"Lena please let us in." Ethan said in a needy voice. I heard the weight on a bed shift then I heard the lock click again.
