Cedric Diggory- The First Murder of the New War

I had sat next to my father. I had sat next to him while my god brother was in there, while he was in the maze. I had the feeling of dread over me; the feeling that somebody was going to die.

Perhaps it was because of my mother being Athena, or maybe it wasn't due to that. Though, I guess I will never know.

I sort of forgot about that all; I forgot about the Greek world for just a few minutes- and of course, while I wasn't thinking of it, something in the Wizarding World was happening.

I could feel it, I could feel my necklace glowing. If it was glowing, then it was time for a meeting with dear great-grandpa Kronos, and I dreaded those, even if I was a spy for camp.

I ignored the necklace, even though there was pain shooting through body because I was ignoring it. I tried to ignore the pain, but I winced as it shot into my neck. The pain was unbearable, but I had to learn about pain- I can't just whine about pain whenever it comes to me. That is just a sign of cowardice.

And I am not a coward.

"Dad," I began. "Something bad is going to happen, isn't it?" I asked him, quietly.

My dad nodded his head, and whispered back to me, "I have a feeling that it is, because... The Triwizard Tournament always results with a dead tribute..."

"Well I guess you can call it the Quartetwizard Tournament now." I said, with a little smile, trying to lighten the mood.

Pain was still shooting through me.

It had seemed like years had gone by while everybody was waiting for somebody with the cup to return- for Harry to return.

I winced every so often, when the pain was shooting through my stomach, chest, neck and head. I was grateful, though, that it had ceased to exist within two hours or so into the third task.

"Come on, Fleur and Viktor are already here..." Ginny mumbled to me. I nodded.

Harry should be back- so should Cedric. Both of them should be back by now... and everything happens to Harry, so I wouldn't be surprised if something bad was happening.

And everything happens to me too. Ha, look how that seems to work out!

Whenever Harry or I are optimistic, we end up jinxing ourselves. It's not our fault that we have to world's worst luck.

The world's best people often have the most rotten luck. Perhaps Harry and I are those types of people.

I felt my father stiffen. I looked at him, and it seemed that he couldn't speak. I looked over at George, who was on my other side.

"'Dele- look." He said smally. I looked.

I felt my eyes widen.

Cedric Diggory's limp body was there on the ground at the entrance and exit of the maze. Harry was next to him, crying out for help.

I've seen death more than any fourteen year old girl should- though I didn't exactly see Cedric die, Harry had to. He's only seen three die- I have seen way more.

I closed my eyes, knowing that the scene in front of me was horrific to the others around me. Girls where shrieking- they had lost the boy that they hoped would ask them out.

He probably wouldn't have asked them all out. He'd be a player then- sort of like Andrew from the Aphrodite cabin!

Once I had opened my eyes, I noticed that my dad was not next to me, George was still next to me, though.
