My Cousin Wants a Necklace

I held onto my Camp necklace with all of my strength; we were currently in Diagon Alley, and vendors were selling amulets of all kinds. I was nervous, I will admit that. In fact, I was shaken up, to say at the least.

You see, last night I had one of my worst nightmares yet. It was a flashback. I was back in the maze.

It was the flesh-eating horses last night. I normally would have found that funny, just because there wasn't supposed to be any flesh-eating horses in the world. However, this is Greek Mythology that I am talking about right now.

Anyway, I would have found it funny if I wasn't the one who was there.

It went like this.

"Percy," I stated, nervous. "They're coming towards me!"

"Stop!" Percy called out, obviously talking to the horses.

He made a face of disgust; the flesh-eating horses must have said something with a lot of profanity.

The horses ignored the son of the sea God. My anxiety level went over the bar.

A mad look glistened in the horse's eye as it came towards me. Coming dangerously close to me, it was able to get my leg if it came any closer.

I heard the sound of a tongue licking its chaps; something felt weird on my left leg.

Before I screamed, I was in utter shock. Pain raced through my body- and then I let out a blood curdling scream. Tears raced down my cheeks. I gathered up the courage to look down at my leg.

The details within itself were to disturbing to imagine, but part of the skin on my left shin was... I'll let you figure it out for yourselves.

I cried and cried in pain; I hiccuped, screaming loudly in between each short-termed breath. I felt like I was dying; my breathing was limited, and I was seeing black stars. Everything was going dark, and I couldn't hear anything that Percy was saying.

"Adele! Annabeth, come here quick!"

"What?" I slurred.

I then blacked out.

When I had woken up, I was on a couch.

Couch?

I looked down; my leg was bandaged up, and blood could be seen. It stained the white bandage with red clots.

That was when I woke up, on a make-shift bed at the Burrow, screaming my head off.

I came to halt in front of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Before I took in the detail of the architecture, I rolled up my jeans on my left leg all the way up to the knee.

On my shin, there was a huge patch of skin that was deeper than the rest; scars filled the surrounding area. It was not very attractive at all, and that was why I tried to not wear shorts whenever I could. I felt a sudden and sharp dose of pain race through my leg; I made myself slump down and sit against the shop wall across from the twin's store.

"Adele?" the voice of Mr. Weasley called out, concerned.

"I'm fine," I breathed. "I'm fine."

He gave me a look that stated when-we-get-back-home-you-will-be-sitting-down.

I got up after I rolled my jean back down.

I opened up the door to the shop, and was suddenly greeted with a bunch of bright colors all over the place. There was shelves upon shelves filled with their products; so many people, ranging from five to seventy, lined up around the store. Children were begging their parents to let them buy something.
