ADELE BLACK: THE SEQUEL

OUR MOTHER'S MARK

As Chiron took me to my father's house, I couldn't help but wonder what had exactly happened. What caused Percy to go missing?

It had to be something extremely bad- Percy wouldn't just willingly go missing.

I mean, I don't think he wants to be a fugitive who everybody is man-hunting all over the USA again.

Besides, Percy is rather strong, and he's the best swordsman in three hundred years or something.

He'd send a hurricane after someone before he'd be abducted.

As I rolled his wheelchair across the sidewalk near our destination, I felt like I was being watched.

I stopped. Chiron looked back at me.

"What are you-"

"Shh. I hear something."

Pulling out my sword, I caught the sight of a butterfly.

I sighed and put back my weapon, and wheeled Chiron to the house.

"Twelve, Grimmuald Place," I muttered.

I opened the door and wheeled in Chiron.

The first sight I saw as I wheeled him into the kitchen was George with his head in his hands, all alone.

"Georgie?" I asked him.

"'Dele?" George asked me, turning around and getting up out of his seat.

He came and embraced me into a hug and planted a kiss on my lips. Kissing him back, I totally forgot that Chiron was there.

He coughed, "So. Where is your father, Adele?"

"Right here," the familiar voice of Sirius Black, my father, said as he walked into the dark and murky kitchen.

"Ah. Sirius Black, Adele's father, right?"

"Yes. And you are?"

I sighed and leaned into George.

"Chiron. I watched over Adele since she was a young child."

Uh-oh.

"I was in prison, for a crime I did not commit."

Here we go again.

"A responsible parent would not got to prison."

"Sorry," he said, not sorry at all.

I took a deep breath.

"The Gods are better parents than you, Mr. Black."

"Well once again, I was in prison."

"Lady Athena visited her from time to time, and you? You didn't even write to her!"

"I couldn't exactly do that!"

"She hated you, you know. She was pissed at you. She called you a kolos many, many times."

"What does kolos mean?"

"It means ass in Greek," I put in.

"Oh. But why?" Dad questioned.

"Does she call this place home?"

"I've never heard her say that this was home."

"Because it isn't," I confessed. "It's not Hogwarts. It's Camp Halfblood. It's always been Camp Halfblood. It's where I spent most of my life, and it's.... It's home."

I sat on my bed, and lay down. Everything began to come down and hit me like a brick falling on my head.

I realized that Annabeth must of been feeling horrible.

I went into my bathroom, and turned on the sink. I took out a drachma.

"Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please except my offering. Please show me Annabeth Chase."

Suddenly, a girl in the Zeus cabin appeared.

"Annabeth!" I called out.

She whipped around and faced me.

"Adele!"

My half-sister looked.... Well, horrible, to put it kindly.

Her curly blonde hair was all messy and tangled; she had it in a lazy ponytail, and it seemed that she hadn't washed it for a day or so.

Her grey eyes were red with tears that were bursting out of her tear duct and onto her tan cheeks like raindrops on a car window.

She had dark bags under her eyes, giving me the impression that she hadn't slept for a while.

Annabeth should really keep up on her hygiene! I mean, I know that her boyfriends missing, but when she finds him, Percy isn't gonna like the smell of her breath. Maybe should at least take a mint.

"Annabeth- who is that?" a voice in the background called.

The voice showed itself; it was a guy who looked around fifteen. My age. Not sixteen.

He had scraggly blonde hair, and he had electric, bright sky blue eyes that reminded me of someone else's eyes.

The boy had a small scar on his upper lip that looked suspiciously like a stapler.

"This is my.... Half-sister," Annabeth announced. "Adele Black, daughter of Athena."

"Oh," the boy said. "I'm Jason, Jason Grace. Son of Jupiter- I mean Zeus."

I frowned. Grace? Thalia.

The look that Annabeth gave me told me that she had the same feeling as I did.

"Anyway, Jason, can I have a word with Annabeth?"

"Sure," Jason backed out.

"He's gone missing, Adele."

"Missing? Annabeth, what else?"

She lowered her voice, "She gave me the Mark."

I gasped, and I was automatically worried.

"She gave it to you.... Oh my Gods...."

"Our mom gave it to me!"

"Mom gave you her mark. She gave you the Mark of Athena."

"Yeah, she gave me the Mark."
