It was 8:15 in the night. Poppy planned another great party, this time,  with the bergens and Branch! Except for River. She was on a hill far away from Troll Tree and Bergen Town and enough to see the whole view. She sighed as she hugged her knees. She didn't want to go to the party, even if she was invited. She just knew she would distract Branch and Poppy or see them together. So, she decided to stay there. She looked down to see her trusty ladybug squeaking, then River rolled her eyes and picked her ladybug up on her palm. "No, I am not here to just for that. I just want to be alone or... see the nice view...".

Then the ladybug squeaked, and River gave a small frown and put the ladybug on her shoulder and leaned back and just watched the view. Back down at Troll Tree and Bergen Town, Branch could see River on the hill, somehow, he felt sorry for her. Then he turned around and saw Poppy dancing, as usual. He smiled warmly, and walked up to her. "Hi Poppy..."

"Hi Branch! Can you believe it?! Everything's cupcakes and rainbows again!" Poppy said and jumped. Suddenly, she lost her balance and fell on Branch, but he grabbed his by his arm wrapped around her waist and their faces so close to each other. They both blushed, then quickly backed away while laughing hysterically. Awkward silence ruled the air, making everything really, really awkward. Back at River, she saw everything and sighed. Then she felt a tap on the shoulder as she turned around and saw the Snack Pack. They were all smiling, then River sighed and faced them while kneeling. "What do you guys want?".

"We were actually worried about you..." DJ Suki said which made River feel a little better and have a small smile on her face. But she sighed and stood up and stood in front of them while looking down. "Thanks. But I'd rather be alone...".

"You like him... don't you?" Biggie asked while holding his pet, tightly. River sighed and rubbed her arm. "No. I don't. Because I know everything's not cupcakes and rainbows in my life...".

She said as the Snack Pack took a glance at each other, then at her. "Why don't you tell him?".

"I just can't... it'll ruin their relationship together. And I don't want more people like me... worthless... useless... and not meant to be created if everything in my life is like this..." she said as the Snack Pack frowned a bit. She passed right through them, and they stepped aside. As River spread her wings, Satin and Chenille took a step forward. "You're not leaving, are you?".

"No... don't worry... I'm-... just gonna take a small flight around..." she said and flew away. Back at Poppy and Branch, Poppy noticed the Snack Pack returning with a small frown. They were talking about something, which she didn't know about. She faced Branch. "I'll be back, Branch...".

She said as he nodded. Then Poppy waved and skipped all the way to the Snack Pack. "Hey guys! Why the long faces?".

"We-... actually can't tell you..." Smidge said in his manly voice while looking at the Snack Pack who agreed. But they tried to make a smile and patted Poppy's shoulder. "But that doesn't mean we aren't happy.".

Then Poppy and the Snack Pack shared smiles. Then Poppy chuckled. "Thanks guys.".

A/N

Now, that I think of it, this fanfic is kinda based on The Corpse Bride by Tim Burtons. Wouldn't you agree? In the ending, it's gonna be the total knock-off.
