A Love To Tell

Chapter 12: River's Free Time

River sighed as she sat on a tree branch from Troll Tree. She could see the Snack Pack and Branch and Poppy. Poppy hugged him first, but then Branch hugged him back. River's eyes widened, but then the Snack Pack hugged him, too. Then River chuckled as her trusty ladybug landed on her shoulder and squeaked. River chuckled and whispered. "Haha, very funny. C'mon, I think it's time to have a small walk around.".

River stood up and flew away along with the ladybug. Then River breathed the fresh air and sighed and looked at the ladybug beside her. "Isn't it cliche that I have an animal friend?".

Then the ladybug squeaked. River chuckled and shrugged. "I don't know.".

She then made loop-da-loop and went through trees and many creatures. But somehow, she couldn't help but think of Poppy and Branch. She felt... odd in the inside. Like she couldn't help but question their relationship. Are they dating? Is there something that they don't know, yet? Does she not know anything yet? Suddenly, she bumped into a tree and fell down. The ladybug gasped and flew on top of her and squeaked. River groaned and got up. "Darn tree. Oh well, guess we should head back. My window are aching, guess were walking.".

She stood up and continued to walk. But River saw the ladybug flying beside her and just on her shoulder length. "Hey, no fair, you're flying."

Then the ladybug gave a look that she mouthed an 'oh'. "Right, right, sorry.".

She sighed and continued to walk to Troll Tree. Back at Troll Tree, Poppy and the others backed away from the poor Branch. Then Poppy realized something. "Hey, Branch, have you seen River? I haven't seen her lately.".

"I don't know. I bet she's flying away from you." He said and chuckled. Poppy punched his shoulder, but Branch continued to laugh. "Ok, ok! Just kidding. Jeez, by the only time I have fun, you don't.".

Back to River, she sighed as she rubbed her arm. She gave a sad expression while looking at the ground. Then the ladybug tilted its head and squeaked. River sighed and whispered. "I don't know, but I can't help but think of him... yes, it's him...".

River said as the ladybug squeaked. Then River scoffed and crossed her arms and gave a face of disbelief. "No, I don't exactly like like him. Just... like, you know?".

Then the ladybug shrugged. Then River gave a frown (A/N: like grumpy cat's frown if you know her) Then River turned her head to the side to see Branch and the others. Somehow, she smiled. She walked up to them but would slow down once she would hear the conversation. She stopped in her tracks as she heard their conversation loud and clear.

"Ok, sorry guys, I gotta head back to my 'queen duties'." Poppy said as they waved. Poppy walked away, then the Snack Pack smirked and looked at Branch. "Branch, we saw you guys talking, together.".

"What do you mean? We regularly talk together." Branch said as River quickly flew up above the few and heard their conversation. Then Cooper said. "Dude, we know about the scrapbooks and those things you said to Poppy in Bridget's date.".

"What exactly are you talking about?" Branch said as the Snack Pack gave each other a glance and looked at Branch. "Branch, can't you tell? You're in love with her.".

That's when it hit River. She bit her bottom lip, she closed her eyes tightly and regretting this choose. She flew down to them and asked. "Hi guys! What are you all talking about?".
