River sighed as she flew around Troll Tree and landed on the ground on her feet. Her wings folded together and hid behind her back and her hair covered it mostly. Suddenly, she saw Branch and Poppy walking around, together. River quickly hid behind a bush and peeked through and listened to heir conversation.

"Wasn't last night, amazing?!" Poppy said as Branch chuckled and rolled his eyes. "It wants that much a big deal but... I'll give a pass.".

"Hey, I haven't seen River for a while. I'm starting to get worried about her." Poppy said as Branch shrugged his shoulders. "Me neither.".

Then awkward silence filled the air, then Branch and Poppy both blushed and looked away from each other. Then Poppy said. "Branch... I-... still have one question...".

"Um... sure..." Branch said and started to get nervous, somehow. But that was impossible, he's never nervous! Then they looked at each other as Poppy rubbed her nape and asked. "When you sang that song... and you said 'you love me'... did you really mean that?".

Branch blushed, not figuring the right words. Then Poppy blushed, too. Then Branch cleared his throat and whispered. "Well... yeah... I mean, you're really beautiful, energetic, and sometimes annoying but... I never actually hated you... I actually appreciated you, for all the times you even tried to make me just smile.".

Poppy smiled, along with Branch. River backed away, hesitating. She panted, or breathing heavily, feeling something stab her in the heart. But she shook her head. It can't be. She barely knew the blue troll, and she knew to the beginning that he belonged to someone. Then the ladybug flew on her shoulder and squeaked. River rolled her eyes and faked a smile. "I'm not stalking, or anything. Just... listening? You get the idea...".

She said and stood up and flew away. Branch and Poppy stared at each other. Then Poppy grinned awkwardly, and Branch looked down and blushing. Poppy smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Branch. I appreciate it...".

"You're welcome, Poppy..." Branch said as Poppy hugged him tightly around his arms. Branch's eyes widened, then he smiled and hugged her back. River, from the air, smile warmly, but then the ladybug on her shoulder squeaked. River sighed. "I told you. They love each other. But they just don't know it, yet...".

Then River's smile faded away with a sad expression. But she still tried to smile but tears started to slowly fall on her eyes. She recklessly wiped it away and flew away. Branch and Poppy slowly part and stared into each other's eyes, not even realizing River. Then Branch chuckled and rubbed his nape. "Well, gotta continue my work... gotta organize my pod...".

"Ok." Poppy said happily as Branch smiled and waved as he walked away to his pod. Poppy smiled and walked away. Branch's drives in his pod and put some boxes down. But as he put one really heavy box down, he noticed River outside the window and sitting on a tree branch and talking to a ladybug. He furrowed a brow, and couldn't but help hear his name and Poppy's. Then River started sobbing, and Branch hesitated. But then River stood up and flew away, along with the ladybug. Branch didn't know what just happened, but he knew she was facing things only a grey troll can.
