Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

June is definitely Jesus's favorite month. Not because summer is just around the corner, but because it's Pride Month. Even during the apocalypse, it's still the best month to him. It's even better this year, because it's the first one he's spending with the man he's in love with.

Wearing a white t shirt with a rainbow flag painted on it, Jesus happily walks into his trailer. He goes over to Daryl, who is sitting at the table, and kisses him on the forehead, then says, "happy pride!"

As usual, Daryl grunts in response, because that's the only thing he knows how to do when someone ever talks to him.

Jesus sits on the bed and smiles at his boyfriend. "I remember my first Pride. I was thirteen years old and I snuck out of my group home to go to the event. It was the best experience of my life. All of the colors, all of the happy men and women and the queens of course. Everyone was just so happy. There was so much love, more love than I've ever seen in my entire life. Then before I knew it, it was all over. I'll remember that day for the rest of my life." Daryl doesn't say anything in response. He doesn't know what to say.

"What about you? What was your first Pride like?" Jesus questions.

"Nah, I couldn't do anything like that in fear of my father. If he found out I was like this, he would've killed me. I wasn't aloud to be who I was 'round him, or my brother for that matter. I've never celebrated it before." Daryl responds.

Jesus looks at him with a smile, "well, there's a first time for everything."

Daryl just hints at a smile in return. Jesus then gets up and kisses Daryl and mumbles an 'I love you'.

Pride Month will soon become one of Daryl's favorite months too.
