Okay I'm currently sick and I wrote this last night after basically chugging a whole bottle of nyquil and after being on other kinds of medicine too. I obviously wanted to get this done before I passed out. So I'm sorry for whatever this turned out to be because I don't feel like rewriting it. So good luck to all of us.

It was the constant staring that gave it away for each of them. They both knew that one another remembers the short relationship they had as children. Yet they still haven't mentioned it to each other. Maybe the past was really the past and what ever happened when they were children didn't matter anymore. It's easy to say that neither one of them knew what to say or do. It was very obvious that they knew and wanted to do something, anything.

It was the soon after Daryl left the kingdom to go back to the hilltop. Specifically the day after Maggie and him had the very emotional conversation in that cellar about Glenn. The sun was hidden behind various dark grey clouds. A storm was coming, two different storms exactly. So they might as well get it out before one or both of them meet their demises in the soon to be war.

Daryl was sitting on a picnic table by himself, watching everyone in the hilltop community laugh, talk, and work. Nobody, besides Maggie and sometimes Enid, would really make conversation with the greasy dirt man. Mostly because on the outside he seems really intimidating, and well always dirty, like does this man ever shower? Maybe someone should throw him in a lake with a bar of soap. Sure it won't actually get him really clean, like let's be honest here you can baptize that man and he still wouldn't be clean, but I guess it could help a bit.

Anyways that's really not the point, but let's get back to the real stuff.

Paul aka Jesus walks over to dirt man dixon, but doesn't bother to sit down.

"It seems like a bit of Déjà Vu, doesn't it?" The always weirdly clean man in the apocalypse says.

Like the animal he seems to be, Daryl grunts. Nobody know why he does this, but they don't question it.

"Look, Daryl I'm sorry for what happ-"

"Nothin' happen'd alright? The past is the past get over it."

"Give me at least two minutes to explain then. We need closure Daryl."

Daryl stays quiet. So Jesus takes that as a sign to explain himself.

"I didn't get adopted by those people. They were different from the others, but still wound up to be the same in the end. Out of nowhere they decided to sell their house and shove me back into that orphanage they call a foster home here in Virginia. I didn't have a choice. I tried coming back to you Daryl. I did. I ran away, hitchhiked, but didn't make it father than the outskirts of Virginia. I'm sorry, I really am."

As per usual, Daryl stays silent.

"Please just say something. Anything. I don't care if you hate me, or despise me. I just wanted you to understand." When Daryl continues to stay silent Jesus starts to walk away.

"My mom died." He finally speaks up.

Jesus turns around to face him. Daryl's eyes stay focused on the ground. Then continues to speak.

"I was about 12 when she passed. Then my older brother left me alone with my ol' man. That wasn't the beginning or the end of it. Neither were you. You see, everyone I care about winds up leaving me in the end."

It's stays silent for a couple seconds before Daryl once again speaks up.

"I don't hate or despise you. I forgave you a long time ago. The past is the past, only thing that matters anymore is right now."

And that is high key where the relationship/friendship picked back up again. I have nothing more to say because I'm about to pass out.

Emily out bitches ✌🏼✌🏼

Okay well I am so sorry for whatever that was.
