before I start I know that Jesus is most likely younger than Daryl but in this they are gonna be around the same age for this to work, besides it's my book and I can do whatever I want.

An eight year old boy with sandy brown hair and worn out clothes sits on a swing set alone watching all the other kids playing on the playground for recess. Daryl Dixon wasn't one to have many friends, sure there were other kids that were nice to him, but when it came to recess time it seems like everyone would forget about him. Daryl definitely hates recess the most.

"Hi there!" a happy bouncing voice speaks up, Daryl looks to see a little boy with brown hair and blue eyes has sat on the swing next to him.

This kid looks like the exact opposite of Daryl. He has brand new clothes and shoes. His hair is combed to the side with some sort of gel product in it to keep it in place. This new boy looks like his family has a lot of money. He probably gets all the toys he wants.

"I'm Paul, and I'm new here! You wanna be friends?"

Nobody really wanted to be friends with Daryl before, so he took the opportunity right away. From there the two young boys became best friends. They practically did everything together.

Paul told Daryl about how he never knew his parents and that he's been in different foster and group homes. This also was his first time out of Virginia. Paul has high hopes that this new foster home is the one, he thinks that his foster parents will adopt him because they love him so much.

Soon enough summer has rolled in and school was finally out. Daryl and Paul met everyday at a nearby park at exactly 11:35 in the morning to go and play for the day. They usually went to Paul's house for lunchtime and bid each other goodbye when the street lights came on and they both had to go home for the day. On stormy and rainy days they went to Paul's house to play with his action figures and legos.

Daryl was so happy that he actually had his first real friend. They both cared so much about each other's. That's why on one cloudy day, at 12:00 in the afternoon, Daryl was confused as to why Paul never showed up to the park. He wondered if Paul was just sick that's why he didn't come out to play.

Day after day, Daryl was at the park at exactly 11:35 a.m. but he was not accompanied by his best friend. Day after day he grew sadder and sadder. So he decided to go by Paul's house to see what was going on.

Once he got there he stood and stared at the white sign right on the front lawn. A for sale sign with a bright read sticker with the word 'SOLD' on it in bold white capital letters. Paul wasn't coming back to be with his best friend. Daryl knew that everyone eventually leaves him, but this one hurt the most.
