Ava's POV
A few weeks later, after supper ended, everyone stayed around later than usual. One school nights, after the kitchen was cleaned up, everyone would go home to get ready for the next day. However, it was a Friday night, which meant that our parents were going to relax and the little kids were going to plop down on a pallet in the living room to watch a movie.
Once we cleaned up the kitchen, the five younger kids all went straight to the den, arguing over what movie they were going to watch. The girls were saying it was their turn to pick, while the boys said it was their turn.
"I fought with them last week." I told my brothers.
"I played referee the week before." Aiden said, so we both turned to Andrew.
"Oh sure, send the good looking one." He said as he turned and went to control the young-ins.
I saw Uncle Brandon grab the beer from the fridge and carry it with him, as he followed the other adults out the back door. Once Andrew had the kids settled down to watch 'The Lion King' we went to join the grown ups on the back porch. Uncle Brandon was seated in one of the old white wicker chairs, with Molly resting on the arm of the chair. Uncle Brant was in the other chair, with Aunt Hope on his lap. Mama and Daddy were on the back porch swing, so my brothers and I climbed onto the porch railing to sit down.
"I can't believe that you three are about to be seniors in high school." Uncle Brandon said, shaking his head as he took a sip of his beer.
"I remember the day we brought them home." Aunt Hope commented with a smile.
"Except we only got to bring to bring two home..Having to leave one in the hospital was almost as bad as when Layla went into labor." Uncle Brant added.
"That was, and always will be the scariest day of my life." Mama stated, as she leaned against Daddy as they slowly moved on the swing.
"I was scared that Bentley was going to jump onto the plane and come with me." Uncle Brandon stated with a chuckle.
I guess now would be the time for me to explain that my daddy didn't know about my brothers and I until we were apart three. He got a promotion in Texas, and had to leave my mother behind in Georgia, but not before he got her knocked up with triplets. Anyways, she never told him and his family kept it from him too, until he came home for Uncle Brant and Aunt Hope's wedding.
"God knows I should have." Daddy replied sadly as Mama leaned against him.
"Y'all were such tiny things." Mama said, as she looked at us. "A month early.. I was panicking, then Aiden wasn't crying.." She trailed off.
"I thought she was about to follow that nurse out of the room.." Aunt Hope said, with a small smile.
"I almost did.. but I had to my Ava Kay." Mama said.
"Did you yell at the doctor?" Andrew asked with an amused smile.
"No, she yelled at the rest of us though." Uncle Brant grumbled. "I thought she was going to bite my head off because I complained about the doctor being a boy!"
"And she yelled at me because Bentley wasn't there." Aunt Hope piped in.
"I remember getting yelled at because I made a comment about the male doctor too." Uncle Brandon said after he thought about it for a minute.
"I'm just going to point out that I was eighteen years old, vaginally delivering three premature children with no pain medication." My mother defended herself.
"Well I would just like to point out that I had to fly back with a pissed off Bentley, by myself!" Molly stated, breaking into the conversation. "I thought I was going to be murdered."
