Airelina Frembell

I think he can't remember anymore.

Amphy can't remember when we really first met.

It was fifteen years ago, when we were both too young. My mother used to serve the government, as a doctor. My father is a soldier of the human empire. They both served the human empire in the Second Dragonoid War. At the time of the great war, they served Captain Ador Harrison, Amphere's father.

Captain Harrison is a very good man. He treats all his subordinates with care. He would disobey the general's orders if it involves sacrificing anyone on his platoon. His honor knows no boundaries. No wonder why Amphere holds a lot of it. He's a lot like his father.

During the war, families of the soldiers were put into a safe camp in the center of Ancient Forest of the Guardian's Haven. The floating continent makes it the safest place anywhere at that time. Even with the ongoing calamity, children like us continued to study in the improvised school the government made. They taught mixed dragonoid and human classes in all grade school. That's where I first met Amphere.

Both of us are so cute back then, totally! I swear that if I ever see the young Amphere again, I would pinch his cheeks for two hours! I didn't feel anything for him at that time, well because we're still a child. But my feelings for him developed when we both got lost in the ancient forest on a specific night.

The reason why we got lost was irrelevant...Or maybe I just forgot. Anyway, we held each other's hands while wandering the eerie forest, fearing that we might lose each other. Amphere was a crybaby since he's still four at that time. Being his senior, I promised to bring him back home.

But we got assaulted by a dark wolf. Luckily, I was able to block its claws using my arm, which was dripping a lot of blood at that time. The dark wolf was so hungry and angry at us that he didn't let us escape, even though we tried to run for a quarter of kilometers.

We were backed off in a ledge. At that moment, Amphere awakened his fighting instinct and used a hard twig as a weapon. "Don't touch my princess!" he shouted at the wolf. It may be a silly line from a fairy tale that his mother used to tell him as a bedtime story, but even up to this day, I consider it cute and heart-pounding.

He managed to land three blows to the wolf's head. The wolf was in pain, and decided to finally leave us for good.

When Amphere saw the wound on my arm, he pulled off a dark crimson handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it to stop the bleeding. At that very time, I was astounded by this young man. He is my real hero. My personal Jesus. He is a real knight.

The search parties finally picked us up and returned us home. I had a crush on him but our moments as a child was short lived. The war expanded and it even reached the Guardian's Haven. We got separated for a very long time.

I kept the handkerchief he gave me and used it as a hair ribbon, up until now.

One year later, my father and my mother was accused of being a traitor, just because they are dragonoids. The discrimination among us back then is not different from now. They both got the same public death punishment at the very same date. They held each other's arms and said 'I love you' to one another. Both their heads fell to the ground at the very same millisecond.

I was there to witness all of it. I was there to witness the human's discrimination and abuse of their power. At that time, I filled my heart with my resolve. To destroy the human empire. To make all dragonoids free.

Meanwhile, Amphere's father hated the jury for punishing my parents. Because he can't stand his subordinates have the false judgement, he decided to release his position as a captain and resigned from the service of the military. The Harrison Family lived a peaceful life from then and now.

Being an orphan dragonoid is a gift from hell. Everything was hell in that time. I tried to become dragonoid maids from different dukes and duchesses, and almost all of them treated their dragonoids harshly. I was traded and sold from city to city. I endured all of it just to live.

There was a time where a perverted duke tried to molest me. It just so happen that I managed to snatch out his knife and slit his throat just before he was able to touch my private parts. He died instantly. That was the first time I killed someone. And that was the first time I discovered my passion.

To kill humans.

I decided to sell myself to a lot of rich people. Human celebrity scum, human businessman scum, human soldier scum. All humans are scum. Because of my beauty, it was never hard to jump from one human to another. Once they try to rape me, I'll stab their heart or shoot a gun on their brain with a smile on my face. Then I'll steal their money and hop on to my next customer. That became my way of living for so long that I forgot to recognize the term 'honor' and 'justice' anymore.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still a virgin. I would kill them just before their fingers reach my thighs.

I never get caught because I always use fake names and aliases. I changed my appearance by shifting hairstyles and trying new make ups. The police never knew my real identity. The name Airelina Frembell was deemed to be wiped out in any records.

The last duke I killed was a kindhearted man.

His name is Zac Schneider. He is five years older than me, and I was sixteen at that time. He promised to treat me carefully and wanted to marry me. For the second time in my life, I felt loved by a human.

Zac has a golden heart. He never lays a finger to any of his dragonoids, even if they upsets him. He is one of a kind. Once, he got an assassination attempt and got stabbed in the back. To get his trust, I tried to defend him and ordered the other dragonoid guards to catch the culprit.

It just so happen that assassin was a dragonoid, and moreover, it was his gardener. The gardener has personal hatred to humans and released his anger by killing his master. Even though Zac was wounded because of that particular dragonoid, he decided to let his gardener free and continue to serve him.

I was moved by Zac's actions. I said to myself that this man is not like other humans. Maybe this man can erase all hatred in my heart.

Maybe this man will change everything in my life.
