The Humvee driver is keeping us wait. It’s been thirty minutes since we went out of the underground camp in Bronzel City, and we haven’t even arrived to our destination. It’s because the driver is evading the Empire guards and posts. There’s a lot of them lately, simply because there will be a festival going on as soon as the clock ticks at twelve midnight.

This is the Dragonoid Festival. This city is one of those ‘friendlies’ to us dragonoids. Back when Estoff erected Arcadia, we used to have a lot of connections here. The population of Bronzel City is 95% dragonoids after all. Now that that fake hero Amphere Harrison has passed the bill in the congress, the city itself made a fiesta.

They don’t know anything. Amphere Harrison killed Commander Estoff Wraith. I can never forgive him for doing such thing. That traitor….completely brainwashing Airelina and Richard. He has the bill as a camouflage. What’s his real intention is…I don’t know. There’s no way that ‘hero’ would fight for our freedom.

That is why we Arcadians chose to trust ex-Duke Yuri Dragunov. He has been funding us and giving us guns for years. There’s no more qualifying leader like him. His plans and action are superb, and his mind is far more superior to any human I’ve ever seen.

This is the plan for this night. We will disguise as a normal guard and infiltrate the center of the city. This is the Neo-Arcadia’s top secret mission, and no one else except we three and the driver knows what we’re about to do.

“Remember. Kill them all.” Dragunov patted my shoulder. Then he wore the helmet of an imperial guard to hide his identity to the public. As soon as he left the Humvee, Nox and I followed with our perfect disguises.

The three of us are surrounded by ocean of dragonoid people. There are some human guards who are keeping eye on the festival. The three of us pulled our heavy machine guns from our backs, and slowly pointed the muzzle to the human guards. All I did was a deep sigh, and then…

“Weapons free!” Dragunov shouted

Endless barrages of bullet shells clashed with the floor. We completely sprayed our ammo towards the human guards, which resulted to their instant death. As soon as I confirmed them dead, I stopped pressing the trigger.

But I noticed that Dragunov and Nox are still scattering the bullets. Not to humans, but to civilian dragonoids! Screams of the helpless became the noise of this very festival. I tapped Dragunov’s shoulder and asked him to stop.

“We should continue, my friend.” Dragunov answered. “A revolution can’t be strengthened without blood sacrifice. Just like how Estoff Wraith’s plan about the Crimson Dragonfly Incident. After we have spewed sufficient blood on this very city, we will pin the blame on the Empire. And this will make dragonoids join our cause, and the Neo-Arcadians to be more angered. I completely trust you, Brow. That is why you’re the only dragonoid we brought here.”

It was clearly wrong in anyone’s perspective. Massacring so much people sharing the same eyes as me is always morally unacceptable. This bloodfest… It’s hurting my heart and soul. But then I remembered that Airelina Frembell did it already. If Estoff was here, I’m quite sure he would do the same.

“What’s the use of a freedom bill if there’s a war going on!?”  Nox shouted out loud because no one will be able to hear him in normal voice because of the infinite gunshot noises.

I have no other choice. I’m already here. I closed my eyes as I pull the trigger once more on my own people. For the sake of Neo-Arcadian’s ideals. Dragonoids must know how to use their anger as their weapon against the human race!

Forty, fifty, sixty. There’s already about a hundred people who are already lying on the floor. I saw a woman crawling towards me, and she grabbed my shoe. This woman had her one eye plucked off by one of our bullet. The other remaining eye is crimson red. A dragonoid.

“Please…Help me…” The woman said as blood continues to fall out of her mouth.

Dragunov saw the woman and immediately put a bullet on her head. He’s so merciless.

At this moment, I have a second thought about following Dragunov from the very beginning. Something wasn’t right. He enjoys this. He enjoys killing people; humans and dragonoids alike. Nox is never different. He has this malicious smile as he destroys every moving creature on his path.

Suddenly, I sensed a flying lizard from above. It was covered with rusted metal armor and electronic live wires. It’s stomach reveals some of its gears, and its horns are giving off train smoke. This is like a steampunkiest seven-meter lizard that I have ever seen. This is the Scrap Dragon. Above his head is a fully armored knight.

“Dragon Knight!” I shouted to alert my comrades.

“Heh, leave it to me!” Nox replied. He swiped his finger on the thin air, and a dimensional disruption of darkness appeared. A magma claw went out from the dark portal, and slowly pulled itself to this very dimension. It was a dragon. A Magma Dragon. To be more accurate, I have seen this form before. It was Estoff’s former dragonoid, Gilliard.

Nox threw his machine gun away and unsheathed his buster sword from the back. Then he hopped to the resurrected Magma Dragon’s head and flew off to clash with the enemy dragon and knight.

“Keep firing.” Dragunov ordered me.

As soon as I got my eyes back on the ground, the police force are already here. There’s nothing fancy about the Empire’s police force. They are just ordinary humans (and sometimes, dragonoids) who are wearing their traditional blue uniform, which are equipped with handguns.

They tried to storm us, but we are far more superior. They do not have any say to our machine guns. And since this is a surprise assault, no one of these puny humans ever got prepared for combat.

The Scrap Dragon was immediately defeated and was smashed to the enemy police forces. We combined it with endless barrages of gunshots and the zombie Magma Dragon’s burning rock projectiles. Everything is so easy if we’re trying to murder everyone.

When our machine guns are completely out of ammo, Dragunov muttered. “This should be enough.”

The Humvee (our getaway vehicle) drifted forward and opened its doors to us. It’s time to return back home, in the Neo-Arcadian camp.

Suddenly, Nox talked with a smug. “We’re missing something. Why wouldn’t we give some message to the Chevalier Unit? Especially Amphere Harrison and Airelina Frembell.”

“There’s no need for that.” Dragunov made a big sigh. And then he drew a pistol from his jacket and fired a bullet directly to my forehead. “This will do.”

I fell down on the floor, unable to think of anything. All I can feel is the endless pain I’m suffering in my brain. But I can still hear Dragunov’s rough voice.

“When the world discovers that Amphere’s friend is the one who made this mess, all the dragonoids will cry for war.”
