Richard Astherson
Few months after Necross Ascension…
I’m finally here.
Five kilometers from the ruined Vanilla City, there is a forest that consists of colossal trees that protects the exotic flora and fauna in the area. The whistling of the birds and gentle breeze of the wind that makes the leaves on the trees dance made an absolute serenity on my feeling.
In front of me, is a long forgotten ruined cathedral, much same as the Guardian’s Haven’s abandoned church. There are a lot of vines climbing on its brick walls, but the entire structure seems to be holding on. I think it will still last for a thousand years more.
This cathedral is invisible to any maps or satellites. As ‘someone’ told me, this particular place will only reveal itself once you’re a meter away from it. And now that I’m finally here, I can’t help but to wonder how in the heavens did this place act the same as the demonic cathedral?
I reached the gigantic wooden door and excerted a lot of force to push and open it. The creaking sound of it shatters the peacefulness of this building. And there, I opened my eyes in shock.
She was really here.
“Reina…” My mouth muttered.
She didn’t die. I knew it. That explains why I still have enough power to create large and numerous portals without exhausting myself.
Two months ago, after the death of Amphere and Airelina, a portal opened. I heard Reina’s voice. She said that I must meet her, in this specific time and place. And now I’m here, still not prepared, still not believing that my love is totally, completely well.
The blonde beauty was comfortably sitting on a golden throne at the center of the hall of this cathedral. She was drinking an expensive wine on a crystal glass. I can tell from her emerald eyes that she was extremely happy that we’re reunited, but there’s something…more sinister.
“How did you-“ I was cut by my gorgeous knight.
“I was able to open a portal before the body of that Titan dragonoid exploded. Her grip on me became loose, so I was able to escape. That is why you buried the wrong person. Who knows? Maybe you buried an unlucky woman who happens to be a bystander at the wrong place and time.” She then sighed. “When I fled, I was randomly transported to this place.”
I looked around and noticed that this is not your ordinary ruined cathedral. There are a lot of human-sized dragon statues with the horn of a ram. I can certainly say that this is like a miniature version of the demonic cathedral.
Reina continued.
“Sad from the fact that I’m still alive, none of the happenings surprises me. It is all part of the plan. For the coming years, new players shall step in. But power shall rest on our hands. People think that there is an absolute peace. But you bring down one enemy, and someone worse will rise unto power and replace him. The more things change, the more they stay the same. That is the truth of this world.
Amphere died for freedom of the dragonoids, and that alone. To honor his deeds, I shall see to it that the fruit of his sacrifices are to be preserved.
But about preserving this world…It’s different.
For days I have searched the true meaning of Necross Ascension. The Underworld can be created once again. Necross Ascension has failed due to the governance of Dragunov. But I’m different. I have the brain and the brawn to execute the plan. I have the bloodline magic, the power of the Vesryn Pulse, and my most precious dragonoid. I shall bring the Underworld down to this messed-up planet once again.
Will you join me, my dear Richard?”
She leant out her hand at me.

“I will.”
I opened up my right palm, revealing the Mark of Vesryn, and took her hand.
