Everyone must be wondering why is that we all have a free time doing this. Dragunov has been massacring people and putting the blame on the Alterran Empire, making all dragonoid cities rally in anger. Wars and flames spread across third-rate cities, and everything are ever worse in the slums. Several dragonoid rights groups are now rallying in the capital, and others preferred creating a militia for justice of the five thousand dragonoids who has been murdered in the festival a few weeks ago.
And here we are with my best friend Amphere, doing the most intense swordfight we’ve ever conducted. We are implementing the same rules as the Dragon Knights Tournament. Our bodies, even our dragons have shield plates equipped. This is the only time we can battle each other with full force since I haven’t got the opportunity to fight him. That is why we’re mimicking the arena rules.
This is the most awaited battle that was delayed in happening. And now, it’s here! On this very arena where no one is an audience!
As of now, we’re not authorized to act about the impending rebellion of the dragonoid race. We have to follow the Empire’s orders after all. We’re just waiting for General Holster’s orders.
Amphere’s sasuke hair danced with the wind as he made a back step from our sword clash. We’re not even warmed up yet, so I think I have the upper hand in this battle. I cocked my mechanical arm and projected my Chaos Claws on my other. In response, Amphere activated his Maximum Clearance and revealed his Deus Ex Machina with four arms, each wielding a photon sword.
“I don’t have enough time for some dragon fights!” I shouted at him. “I’ll use everything I got! DRACARYX!!! Activate Swords of Eternal Light!”
“I’m thinking the same way too!” Amphere held a grin. “DRACARYX!!! Activate Yggdrasil Fall!”
Now I know why Airelina has been flying on top of the battlefield, not interrupting our fight or anything. She’s been chanting her Dracaryx for the whole time! Nine planets emerged and fell like barrages of jumbo meteor showers to our direction. In the other hand, my wife, Kyrie flew and pointed her hand outward. She had the gigantic swords of light to thrust upwards and destroy all those planets!
Swords surged forward, destroying the core. The planets exploded upon impact, and the large debris was obliterated by my other swords of eternal light. But it was never enough. I manage to destroy the seven planets, but I’m we’re all out of swords to block the remaining Midgard and Helheim. There was a sudden outburst as if this was the apocalypse itself. We were flooded by mix of flames, oceans, and chunky mud.
I completely blacked out until the whole arena was cleared magically. I don’t know what happened. All I saw after that burst is that Kyrie and I are both lying on the floor unhurt, but our shield plates at zero.
Not just us. Even Amphere and Airelina had theirs depleted. What’s more is that all of us looked like scientist who was a victim of a failed nuke experiment. We’re in a complete mess.
“Well that’s useless.” Amphere sighed, and then he turned to Airi. “Our Dracaryx is really useful on taking everyone down, including us.”
“You can’t blame me, totally!” Airi complained, and then she held her reddish cheeks. “You should praise me more because our love made our Dracaryx a lot more powerful. Now our Yggdrasil Fall can one-hit-K.O. everyone in the battlefield….Including us…totally!”
Amphere lend his hand to help me stand up. And then he made a forced smile. “I would like another run but I’m afraid we can’t use Vesryn Pulse anymore. Unlike you, I’m just powerful if I can borrow Airi’s technological magic. I’m afraid I’ll lose if we’ll just resort in a sword fight.”
“Yeah. We’ll do it again tomorrow if you like.” I shook his hand. Kyrie and Airelina did the same to each other with a friendly smile.
“That was magnanimous!” General Holster, who is watching all the time, made fast clap. He’s with his (secretly perverted) wife Iris, who had her eyes filled with amazement. Then General Holster made a useless joke once again. “I never thought that your fight was Ragnarok-shly apocalyptic! Just like Yggdrasil Fall! That was a truly dazzling fight, just like your Sword of Eternal Light! Hahaha!”
“Um. Okay.” I murmurred. Then all of us were silent. The sandy arena swooshed as the wind goes by as if this is the Wild West. Iris is giving a sarcastic smile silently saying that ‘Please kill my husband, please’.
“Well…” General Holster broke the silence, still having that genuine smile. “I have received orders from the royal family. Princess Serenity Elkyria herself commanded me to reform a task force in capturing Dragunov. Obviously, I will still make use of all the Chevalier Unit members, with some more members. I would like that other shrine maiden should come with us. Her ability is a force to be reckoned with.”
“If you’re talking about Exceria, well…” Amphere scratched his cheek. “I still have to consult the Cathedral Exa first.”
“But I’m sure Exceria will come, totally!” Airelina cheered them up.
“Well that’s great. Once your recruitment succeed, I shall rename Leviticus’s Chevalier Unit to Task Force Libera.”
“Libera?” Kyrie asked as she tilted her head cutely.
“Yes, Task Force Libera. As in freedom. We’re all fighting for everyone’s freedom after all. Hahaha!”
I’d say General Holster really supports the Dragonoid Rights Bill. It involves Iris, who is his dragonoid after all. If the bill becomes the law, there will be no boundaries for Iris, Richard, Airelina and Kyrie. I also want to see Kyrie live in that world where there’s no fatal troubles and discrimination. We all yearn for peace.
We can’t use Vesryn Pulse, so we looked for Richard all over the place to have some portal opened for us. We don’t want to use public transportation because it’s a hassle, and you have to pay for it. At least for Richard, it’s completely free. I’m still worrying about budget as of this time, because of the expenses of our wedding that happened a few days ago.
Also, I had Amphere as the best man and Reina as the maiden of honor in that wedding. Everything went well because I was never caught peeping back in the hot springs. Heh. Good bye single life.
We arrived the underground Cathedral Exa without trouble. There, a silver woman was sitting gorgeously on top of the waters of the spring. She’s having this smile that she knows why Amphere was here for.
“Good afternoon, H.G.” Amphere said with a smile. “I would want to ask permission if I could borrow Exceria for our next operations for these coming weeks.”
“That offer should be decided by Exceria alone.” H.G. replied. “It is her choice if she wants to face her destiny or not.”
“I will!”
From behind, is a beautiful woman with a blue moonstone orb on her forehead. She was Exceria, the most powerful dragonoid. I am the witness of her might, and I say that being the most powerful is not an overstatement.
“Ho?” H.G. slightly closed her scary red eyes with black sclera. “You’ve been hiding underground for a millennia, and now you have filled your resolve to face and fight Him?”
“Yes.” Exceria nodded. Her crimson eyes are now filled with determination. “I’m tired of running and hiding. Too much bloodshed has been happened because of my cowardice. But now that I can unleash my true form and Dracaryx, I have gained enough courage! All these wars should end if I can stop Him!”
I don’t know who ‘Him’ is. Amphere and Airelina appear to have no clue too.
“The girl should do what her heart tells her to do.” H.G. replied with a smile full of joy. “Now, go forth and fulfill your destiny, Cathedral Exa Saint!”
Exceria genuflected and bowed gracefully. “Thank you, Lord Vesryn.”
All our jaws hanged in this very revelation.
