Niall's POV
I heard a quiet knock at my door and I told the person to come in. Just like I had guessed, it was Alyson. I smiled admiringly at her but she looked a bit nervous.
"What's up, Al?" I asked.
"Nothing, just wanted to come see you." she said, walking slowly towards me. There's definitely something on her mind and for some reason she's nervous about it. Aly's never like this so it must be serious.
"Al, what's wrong?" I asked in a serious tone but she just shook her head, telling me that she was fine.
"C'mere." I softly said and held out my arms. She fit perfectly into them as we cuddled on my bed.
"You're trembling, Al." I informed her. "Please tell me what's wrong."
She sighed and then looked at me. "I need to go back to Texas for awhile."
I felt like all the wind had been knocked out of me. She can't be leaving me.
"W-why?" I felt like crying but I needed to stay strong for whatever is to come.
"My dad needs me," she replied. "But I'll be back soon, I promise."
"What does he need?"
"I have no idea but he said it was an emergency." Aly explained.
"I don't think you should go. There's so many things wrong with this whole thing."
"Niall, he's my dad, I have to go." she snapped.
"But this whole thing seems so sketchy." I said.
"How?"
"Whenever we bring up your family, you get all quiet and nervous." I exclaimed. "You never talk about your parents and you've never talked about going back to Texas. Ever. And now your dad calls out of the blue and you want to be there for him? It just doesn't sound good to me."
"Ni, I have to go. My dad has shut me out for years and if he called me out of all people then I have to see what he wants." she explained. "Please, just let me go."
I thought this through for a few more seconds. The more she explains the situation, the more unsure I feel about it. Even if I have nothing to worry about, I still won't let her fly across the country alone. Aly's small and fragile, who knows what'll happen if she's left alone in a crowded airport.
"I'm going with you." I said.
"Niall, you really don't--"
"I won't let you go if I don't go with you." I interrupted. "You're not going alone."
"It's really not that big of a deal." she said quietly.
"Even if it isn't, I'd love to go Texas with you and then you can come to Ireland with me sometime. I can meet all your friends and family and you can do the same with me." I tried to convince her to let me come along. "Besides, would you really want to go on a plane all by yourself?"
She shook her head and finally gave in. "You can come."
I kissed her cheek and told her I'd book the flight for tomorrow, all she has to do is pack. She nodded and left the room to get started packing.
This whole situation is so sketchy but I have to trust that she knows what she's doing.
