Author's note

This chapter wasn't suppose to be important but i changed my mind so it is important so you better read it.

Rene's POV

I like to remember the times when vampires weren't a thing and humans lived in harmony. Well not so much harmony. We still fought but nothing is as bad as being a vampire and seeing bloodshed for years. Let me take you back to a more simple time. When I was human.

~Flashback~

It was my mother's birthday. I went out and picked her favorite flowers. Dandelions were her favorite. I picked a handful of them and walked back to our little house. Our house was simple. It was small and made of wood.

As i walked back, i was greeted by a familiar face.

"Good day my lady." Said Leonardo. He took off his hat and bowed his head.

"Must you be so silly? What brings you here?"

"You do Rene. I Have something for you." His hand went into his pocket. He pulled out a beautiful white flower bracelet. He reached for my hand to put it on.

"Its beautiful." I said handing him my hand. He smiled and put it on my wrist.

"I made myself." I stared at him. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. His hand went to my cheek and he pulled my face up while bending a little.

Leonardo was a brunette with short wavy hair. His eyes were hazel. He has freckles on his face.  He was taller than me by seven inches. I thought he was perfect.

I continue to blush as we shared a kiss together. It seemed like it was never going to end. I thought it wasn't. I hoped it wouldn't but it did. I almost whimpered when he pulled back.

"I will see you later then?" He smiled

I blushed harder if that was possible. "Yes. I must be getting home now. Today's my mother's birthday and we are making her this huge dinner. I was just out collecting her favorite flowers." I said.

He nodded. "Farewell my lady." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and he walked away. I felt my cheek and continued to walk home.

Later that night, I was waiting for Leonardo in my room. Suddenly there was a knock on my door. Assuming it was him, I fixed my hair and night gown. Then i went and opened my door. It was my mother. She seemed like she had bad news. It was written on her face.

"What's wrong?"

"Take a seat."

I do as I am told.

"Leonardo was a suspect."

"A suspect? A suspect of what?" My voice was shaky.

"They suspected him as a vampire. He is being executed right now."

I felt my heart being ripped out and torn to shreds.

"No! They have it all wrong! He isn't a vampire! I have to stop them." I got up but my mom grabbed my arm.

"There is nothing you could do. I'm sorry."

I sat back down and bury my face in my pillow. I sobbed and sobbed. My mom left a while ago.  I looked at the bracelet that he just gave me that day. I took it off and put it in my diary. I didn't need to write about it. I will never forget it.
