René's POV

We have been sitting in silence since Randy left the room. I could feel the uneasiness in the room. I look around and my best friend is sitting there with a blank look on his face. My parents are sitting there with disbelief on their faces. And then there's me. Sitting here thinking that nothing could get worse than this. I decided to speak.

"What happens now?" I ask in a desperate voice. There was some hope in me that Raph had some sort of spell to get us out of this mess.

"I don't know. Maybe its the end of us René." He said

I give him a sharp look. "You're giving up? You never give up. I've been with you for years, decades and you have never gave up."

My parents just sit there and look at us while we talk.

"What do you want me to do?! There's nothing I can do! My magic isn't worth anything now that the mate bond is gone. You know this. Its true that I am a skilled wizard but having that bond makes you stronger and if its destroyed then I'm left with basically nothing."

I am still not going to give up so easily. "Why can't you take some of my magic and use it? I know you can do it."

"I can't do that. If I do that then you will become more vulnerable."

"You have to do something raph."

He just hung his head. I'm not getting through to him.

"René."

I look up to the voice that called my name.

"I don't think we can get out of this alive." Said my mom.

"We will. We have to." I said. I refuse to go down this easily.

"Please Raph. Take some of my energy." I begged him. He reluctantly nodded and proceeded to do so.

"Okay I absorbed enough energy to unbound us but I need more."

As if he was staged to come in at that exact moment, james and Randy came bursting into the room. I just stared in shock.

"James?!" I exclaimed. He looked at me with a smirk.

It seems like he and Randy were fighting.

"Why are you coming to her rescue? You can join us James." Said Randy.

"I can't turn my back on my mate unlike you." He spat. James's voice was laced with disgust.

"Oh so you just forgave her for what she did behind your back?"

My eyes widened. "Randy no." I said.

James looked at me. "What is he talking about?"

Randy laughed. "Randy don't do this." I said with desperation.

"She slept with my mate."

The whole world just came crashing down. It was like everything stopped for just that moment.

"What?" James said in a quiet voice.

"I'm sorry James."

"I'm sorry James. You weren't sorry when you were fucking him. James join us and we can make her go away."

James just had an indescribable look on his face. "No matter what she does I will never join you." He said.

I could tell that our bond has been damaged by that but its still intact.

"You still side with them even though your mate is a cheater. That's a shame. But what could you expect from a mutt?" He put so much emphasis on 'mutt' that it sent chills up my spine.

Randy is too far gone. I dont think he will be coming back to us. I hope you realize that Raph.

"Where are you going?"

I was snapped out of my thoughts by james growling at Randy. He looked as if he was ready to rip his throat out. His fangs were protruding out his mouth and his claws had found their way to the surface. His eyes were full of murder. I look over to my parents.

I'm sorry I bought you all into this.

James charged at Randy. He pinned him to the wall.

"Anything else you want to say? Before I kill you?"

Randy just smirked. "I'm already dead. There's nothing left to live for."

"So be it."

I just watched in a terror like state. I never seen james so angry and out for blood. I couldn't speak nor move even though Raph had unbounded us. Then I finally hear Raph.

"James. Let me handle him."

James shot raph a look and raph sent a look that could pierce into the soul of anyone heartless. James threw Randy on the ground.

"You got lucky you traitor." He just scoffed.

James walked over to me.

"I'm so sorry james. I know I was wrong." I quickly apologized

"I know you are but I have already forgiven you. You are my mate and it did hurt a little but I'll be okay." He gave me a hug.

"What a happy ending." Said Randy

"Its not Going to be happy for you Randell." That was the first time I heard Raph say his full name. Raph stood up.

"What are you going to do Raph? Beg for me to come back?"

Raph chuckled. "No I'm not. I'm going to defeat you here. If you come back then we cane work on the bond. If not, then so be it."

"Raph what magic do you have?" I said. Knowing that most of his magic is basically gone due to the bond means that he could possibly die.

"Wait just take some of my magic energy." Said James.

"You sure?"

James nodded. Raph proceeded to take the magic from James. Once he was finished, he faced Randy. Raph disappeared and all we see is randy grabbing at his throat.

"Get out of here rené." He said. I nodded and helped my parents up then we fled the seen.
