As confident as I acted at the movies, I'm honestly scared to death. It was hard enough when Johnny asked me on a date, but asking him? That's downright terrifying. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but for once I don't want to ask maddie. This is something I have to work out on my own. I take a deep breath and text Johnny:
@kenzieziegler: hey Johnny, are you free Tuesday night?
     @johnnyorlando: sure, why?
@kenzieziegler: well... I was thinking we could go to the mall together
@johnnyorlando: are you asking me on a date Mackenzie Frances Ziegler?;)
@kenzieziegler: do you have to make this difficult on purpose?
@johnnyorlando: of course I do. Do you even know who I am?
     @kenzieziegler: Johnny cringelando
     @johnnyorlando: ...
@kenzieziegler: see you at school cringelando!
I crashed onto my bed, feeling satisfied with myself for the first time today.
Johnny pov:
*at the mall*
'Cringelando, eh?' I said when I saw kenzie walking towards me.
'Hey!' She said, suddenly on the defensive. 'Not my fault you have an awkward second name!'
'I do not have an awkward second name!' I exclaimed. 'Now your second name is a different story. What am I meant to call you, zebra?'
'How about kenz,' she said sweetly.
'How about idiot,' I said.
'Thank you, sir. Your creativity is greatly appreciated.' She smiled.
     'You're such a dork,' I sighed.
Kenzie stood on her toes and kissed me on the cheek.
'If I'm a dork, what the hell are you?' She said simply.
I laughed and took her hand.
'Johnny?' She asked, a nervous edge to her voice.
'Yeah?' I said.
'Well, Lauren said that you thought you scared me away,' she said.
     I turned to face her.
'And did I?' I said softly. 'Of course not,' she laughed.                                                               I leaned in and kissed her.
Mackenzie pov:
Once I got home, I relived every part of the evening. Already I missed Johnny. I sighed. Thinking about him too much is unhealthy, I know, but how am I supposed to help it?
'Kenz! Mads! Dinner!' I heard my mom yell.
Despite everything that was going through my head, I managed to get up and went downstairs to eat.
*after dinner*
'Kenz?' Said Maddie.
'Hm?' I said.
'I have an idea.' Her eyes sparked mischievously.
'What is it,' I sighed, exasperated. Maddie's 'ideas' never ended well.
'Hey!' She protested. 'It's actually a good one this time!'
I laughed.
'What is it then,' I giggled.
'Well... it's super duper obvious how much you want to be with Johnny right now, so I thought you two could use my old tent and camp outside.' She rambled. 'Mom said it's fine by her, so you just need to ask Johnny. I didn't wanna ask him in case you said no.' She paused, waiting for my verdict.
I blinked. 'That,' I said, 'is a good idea.'
'I told you!' She said triumphantly. I rolled my eyes, hiding my excitement with immense difficulty.
*Outside, camping*
Johnny walked into the tent carrying a bag about 5 times the size of him.
'What is that,' I laughed, pointing at the bag.
'That,' he said, 'is our sleeping material.'
'Is that all you could come up with,' I said, raising an eyebrow.                                             He shrugged.
'Hey, if you don't want double stuffed oreos, that's fine by me,' he grinned.
I perked up immediately. 'Hey!' I argued. 'I never said that!'
He held his hands up in surrender and started to empty his bag. It was full of blankets, pillows, oreos, peach ice tea and strawberry laces.
'Are you trying to make me fat,' I giggled.
'Well, if you really don't want any-'
'Shut up,' I interrupted and kissed him on the cheek.
He smirked, and started making a nest out of all the duvets.
'Hey! Let me help,' I pleaded.
'Did I say you couldn't?'
He asked innocently.
I rolled my eyes and started putting out duvets and pillows.

Johnny pov:
'I love you' I whispered softly in Kenzie's hair.
'I love you too,' she murmured, her eyes shining brighter than the stars.
My heart dived into an impressive gymnastics routine, ending with a casual triple back flip.
I put my arm around Kenz and pulled her closer to me, so close I could feel her breath on my face.
Seeing how she was shivering, I pulled the duvet over our heads.
     'I can't see' she giggled.
'Of course you can't see you idiot,' I scoffed. 'It's, like, midnight.'
I leaned in slightly, until our noses were touching.
She put a finger on my lips.
'Not so fast, Mr O' she said.
'If you're talking to my dad, I'm afraid he's sleeping in the house,' I shrugged.
She laughed and then stopped herself.
'What's wrong kenz,' I said. 'Did I do something?'
'No, it's not that,' she said. 'It's not... well, I've just got something on my mind.'                   I took the covers off our faces and sat up so I could see her face properly.
'You know you can talk to me about anything,' I said.
'I know, but... it's a bit stupid,' she said nervously.
'Kenz, you could say that your sister is a clone and the real Maddie has been abducted by aliens and I would still listen to you.'
'I know, it's just...' she took a deep breath. 'Every time I'm with you, I have the time of my life. You've made me life so much better and I have no idea what I would do if it wasn't for you. But the problem is... I miss you too much when I'm not with you. I can't concentrate on anything, and I just-'
Before she could finish her sentence, I kissed her softly. When I finally pulled away, I could see how much weight had been lifted off her shoulders and I almost started to cry.
'Why didn't you tell me,' I whispered.
'I just did,' she grinned sheepishly.
'Mackenzie, please, don't ever worry about things like this. I don't want to take away your life. I love you, but you need to concentrate on other things as well. I know it's hard to resist me, cos I'm just so hot and-'                                                                               'Johnny!' She said, laughing.
I grinned, and lay down again. A few minutes later, I fell asleep with the girl I love laying on my chest.
