Chapter 10: Mackenzie pov

     After we were done eating, Johnny said he had another surprise for me.
     'How can you possibly have something better than this planned?' I asked, raising an eyebrow.                                                                                     
'You'll see,' he smirked.
     And with that he took my hand and started steering me through the trees. After about 2 minutes, he covered my eyes with his hands and led me towards his surprise as carefully as he could, shielding me from tree branches and making sure I didn't trip over any roots. My heart was pounding so loudly I was surprised he didn't hear it.
     Then, as we got closer, I started to hear water.                   
'Are you ready?' He said.
     'Ready as I'll ever be,' I grinned.
Johnny pov:
     As I took my hands off her eyes, she gasped. I let her take in the area, anxiously waiting for her verdict. My mind wouldn't stop asking questions. Was it a good gasp or a bad gasp? Was this a stupid place to take her? What if she dumps me because she doesn't like it?                                       
But as she turned to me, I could see she liked it.
     Her eyes were shining so bright they were lighting up the water, and her smile was so heart melting I suddenly found it difficult to speak.
     'Do you like it?' I managed to say.
Mackenzie pov:
     'Like it? I love it! Oh my God johnny!' I fell into his arms and took in his warmth, the way he was stroking my hair gently, treating me like the most precious thing in the world.
     Johnny had taken me to a small clearing in the woods, with a beautiful bench that looked like it had been designed for the richest of the rich and a bright blue waterfall pouring down into a lake. The sky was as blue as ever and the sun was shining especially for us. The golden brown autumn leaves were blowing in the wind, gently falling at our feet. But that wasn't the best part.
     In front of us stood an expertly made tree house, looking like someone had spent hours building it. On the door was a tiny sign with 3 words written on it: Kenzie and Johnny.            
After a few seconds of Johnny holding me, he whispered into my hair.
     'I love you Kenzie,' he said softly.                                                           
'I love you too,' I said, my heart doing somersaults.                      
Then he leaned in a kissed me softly, his lips tasting of double stuffed oreos and strawberries.
     Those seconds seemed to last forever, and they were the best seconds of my life.
