'Johnny?' Whispered kenz.
'Kenz? What's wrong?' I said.
'I really need to talk to you... it's about Hayden.' She replied. Seeing how worried she looked, I didn't hesitate.
'OK. Meet me at the park after school,' I said. She nodded, looking sick.

I saw Kenzie walking through the park and ran up to her.
'Kenz, please tell me what's wrong,' I said, trying to hide my sadness.
'Hayden...' a tear rolled down her cheek.
'Hayden what?'I said, holding her hands. She swallowed and looked into my eyes.
'Hayden beat me yesterday,' she said, and burst into tears.
I held her tight in my arms and rolled up the sleeves of her jumper. Sure enough, there were a dozen purple bruises all down both arms, and tears threatened to spill.
'It's ok kenz,' I whispered into her hair. 'I'll sort this out.'
