Chapter 7

Amnesia

Kanae's POV:

"Professor, something is really wrong with Boomer and we really need your help," Kaoru said.

"Well, if I were to examine him, then I need him here."

"Takeshi, have you seen Boomer?"

"No, I haven't seen him ever since I saw you," Takeshi answered.

"Then we have to ask Taro-" I said then dropped to the ground.

"Kanae! You okay?"

Everything's starting to get blurry.

"Momoko! What happened?" Kaoru asked as she ran to Momoko's bed.

"W... who are you?" Momoko asked.

"Momoko?" Taro said. "Oh thank goodness, you're alive!" he said and hugged her.

Momoko struggled and pushed Taro away as she shrieked.

"Who are you?!" Momoko yelled. "N-nurse!"

The nurse led us outside the room.

"Nurse, what happened to her? What happened?!" Taro asked.

"I'm sorry but... she has amnesia."

"Momoko will have amnesia," I said.

"Wait, Momoko has amnesia?" Kaoru panicked.

"Will soon. I don't know how and when but we have to keep an eye on her."

"Wait, where is she now?" Professor asked.

"At our room but we gotta go," Kaoru said.

We suddenly rushed out of the room but before we could reach Kaoru's room, a group of girls blocked the way.

"Takeshiiiiii!!" they ran into us and pulled us away from Takeshi.

"Takeshi!!" they squealed. If they don't stop now, my eardrums will explode into bits... I thought.

"I told him that telling Kahoru where his room is is a bad idea," Kaoru muttered.

"Girls, girls please! I'm busy!" Takeshi struggled.

"But Takeshi!" they whined.

"Oh for the love of-- you heard him! Scram!" Kaoru yelled.

"Well, Matsubara, aren't you busy?" an auburn with puffy hair said, walking to Kaoru.

"Well, isn't he also busy?"

"Busy flirting with us!"

"Stop flirting with my friend's boyfriend!" I said.

"What are you going to do if we don't?"

I grabbed her by the collar and pulled her close to my face.

"Oh, you don't want to know. If you don't leave now, I swear you'll regret that you touched him," I growled.

She shuddered and I let go. The girls soon followed her out.

"How'd you do that?" Kaoru asked.

"Trust me, you don't wanna know what I do to them."

"Umm... Momoko remember?" Takeshi said.

"Right. Thanks for the reminder," Kaoru said.

When we arrived at the room, we only saw Miyako dobbing in her pillow.

"Miyako, where's Momoko?" Kaoru asked.

"She's at the market place. Now leave me alone," Miyako said.

"Okay. Thank Miya! See ya!" we said and rushed to the market place.

"Momoko! Momoko! Where are you?!" we yelled.

"Takeshi? Kaoru? Kanae? Professor? What are you guys doing here?" we heard Momoko say.

We turned around and saw Momoko holding Taro's arm.

"Oh thank goodness, we found you!" Professor said.

"What? Why? What's wrong?"

"You're in trouble. Kanae saw that you will have an accident and have an amnesia," Takeshi said.

"What kind of accident?" Taro asked.

"I don't know but it will happen if we don't keep Momoko safe," I said.

"Well, where will she be kept?"

"I don't know. As long as one of us are there with her."

"Then, I'll stay with her."

"No, we take turns, Taro. You can't do this all by yourself," Kaoru said.

"But--"

"No buts."

Then, we heard an explosion. We saw that it's from the hotel. The people were running away from it.

We ran towards the hotel and saw a room in the second floor is on... I don't know what it's called. It's orange and it's getting stronger.

"The hotel is on fire!" Professor exclaimed. "Ken and Peach are still in there!"

I saw Kaoru narrow her eyes towards the room that's on fire. I think that's what it's called. Then her eyes widened.

"Momoko! Our room! Miyako's still in there!"

"Remember Renee... if you try to stop what is really going to happen to someone, someone else will have to face it. So think wisely."

"OH no..." I said and dropped to the ground.

"What?"

"This is all my fault," I felt myself tearing up.

"Why? Why is your fault?" Momoko asked.

"I tried to stop Momoko from having the amnesia, but it has to be done. The accident was to take place in the market place today but, we stopped it. And now, Miyako has the amnesia."

"Then why didn't you tell us before?!" Kaoru yelled angrily/

"My father told me that years ago so I could barely remember."

"Well, Miyako is in the fire right now! Maybe she'll die instead of having amnesia, thanks to you!"

"I'm sorry..."

"Kaoru, calm down," Takeshi said.

"How am I supposed to calm down?!"

"Kaoru, just breathe and calm down! She'll be fine," Momoko said.

"How would you know?!"

"Because what should have happened to Momoko was to lose all of her memories. So, now that it's stopped, Miyako will be the one who will lose everything she knows," I explained.

We soon heard some loud noises coming closer.

"W-what was that?" I asked.

"The sirens. It means that the firemen are almost here," Professor said.

We soon saw a firetruck stop in front of the hotel and men in suits started to spray water towards the fire. Some are even getting in the hotel.

~Meanwhile~

"Why did you put the bomb in the hotel?"

"Well, it already has gone off and we can't give it to Momoko since her friends are there."

"I told you to give it to her gift wrapped!"

"Her friends won't accept that! Plus, Taro might even check inside of it!"

"Well, I guess that increases their problem with the Blues since Boomer has his memos messed up and Bubbles has amnesia."

"We need a new plan to get rid of Momoko. But first, we have to get rid of Kanae."
