Chapter 15

I hope you find someone better...

Professor's POV:

I changed the seaweed into liquid form and filled two syringes. I walked to the boys who are struggling to get out of the chains. They almost broke it so I gotta hurry up.

"Calm down boys, it's not going to hurt much," I said and injected them both. They both slowly fall to their beds, passing out.

I looked at the monitor and saw how long it's going to take effect.

"Professor, how are the boys?" Momoko asked.

"They're going to be fine. Although, it's going to take a month before it will take effect," I said.

"What?! One month??!!!" Miyako yelled.

"Yeah. At least it's not not going to work, right? They'll be awake tomorrow with their memories being handled."

"Good. I've had enough with his hitting," Kaoru frowned.

"Hey, it's not his fault," Miyako said.

"I know. But how would you feel if your boyfriend suddenly brutally beats you? I'm starting to have bruises all over me!"

"Well, he's coming back to himself soon. So we have to wait," Momoko said.

"Okay. I'll stay away from him for a month for now. I don't want to face him right now," Kaoru said and with that, she got out of the house.

~Next Day~ Kanae's POV:

"Not again..." I muttered. "Kaoru!" I yelled as I ran to the hospital.

Once I reached the hospital, I saw Kaoru laid on the the hospital bed with bandages all around her.

"Another beating from Takeshi huh?" I asked.

"Yeah. I wish it was a week than a month..." Kaoru said and drifted off to sleep.

I sighed. Those Powerpunks... they're getting more evil by the second. We have to defeat them and fast or else, something even worse might happen. I was about to go out when a doctor bumped into me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry doc!" I apologized.

"It's fine, it's fine. Is Kaoru here okay?" he looked at me. He has dark blue hair and sparkling green eyes.

"She's fine, doc." I smiled.

"Okay, good. If anything happens to her, just call me," he gave me a card which contains his number and name.

"Taishi Kenkei? Okay," I smiled.

"Okay," he smiled back and I went out. He doesn't look bad... he kinda reminds me of Kazuo...

I started tearing up. Kazou...

~Next week~ Kaoru's POV:

I'm still in the hospital cue to some broken bones. Yep, that's how bad he beat me last week.

I stirred in my sleep and opened my eyes slowly. I turned my head to the door since I heard someone come in.

Then my eyes widened and trembled in fear. "W-what are you doing here??!" I moved a bit.

"I'm sorry, Kaoru about what I did earlier," Butch said.

"I know that it wasn't you but, get out of here!" I yelled.

With that, the other doctors dragged him out. I looked at the ground to see a buttercup on the ground. I struggled to pick it up and stroke its petals. It so reminds me of our first kiss...

I held the star necklace hanging on my neck. It's the necklace Butch gave me right after we started dating.

I wish I didn't let him go spying on those girls. They're just trouble.

~Next week again~ Butch's POV:

I sighed as I walk towards the beach. I should've been more careful in sneaking around the girls. And, yes, I remembered. I still have that jumbled mind but, the cure is taking effect.

I looked up and saw Kaoru staring at the sunset. I walked beside her but there was a big gap between us.

There was a silence until I broke it. "I'm so sorry Kaoru..."

She stayed silent as she stared at the ground. She was stroking her necklace I gave her.

"It wasn't me who beat you up. They were controlling me," I continued.

"I know. But I think it's for best that we keep distance from each other for now," she spoke.

"I understand. But I promise I'll try to control myself."

There was another silence. She then walked right up to me and gave me the necklace.

"I hope you find someone better..." she said and with that, she walked away.

Those words shattered my heart into pieces. "I hope you find someone better..."

I dropped to the ground as my tears fall down from my eyes.

I lost her...
