"Hey sorry I’m late." I heard the male voice from inside the cafe.
"No worries.” I heard Sarah reply.
Of course he was here to meet her. They obviously had a close relation with each other since he came to see her again for the second time today. But why did he meet her that early if he would see her now in normal circumstances? Something was definitely odd about the both of them.
"Did you give the stuff to Johnny?" The creepy man asked then I heard a lighter flick and the sound of a huff a few seconds after, apparently he was smoking. Was smoking even aloud in cafes?
"Yeah, I had to go all the way downtown just to see him." She sounded annoyed.
"Downtown? Wasn't he near campus?" He asked after huffing another cloud of smoke.
"No, I waited for him for about 15 minutes before he finally called me to change the location to downtown." She said. Then they both stopped talking. What? Did they leave? Or did they know someone was listening?
My eyes widened and I panicked a little, peeking inside to see what they were doing. I sighed in relief when I found them still setting on the same table as the waitress brought them something that I couldn't see because Sarah blocked my vision.
Being a little too curious about what the waiter brought them, I tried to shift my position to have a better look and I stared for a second too long which made the creepy guy catch me looking at them. He stared back at me giving me chills all over my spine; his face was emotionless and his features were hard. Just the way he looked at me made my heart pound faster and made me want to curl up in my bed, never wanting to get out again.
I immediately took a step aside back to my previous spy place where I knew they couldn't see me and I couldn't see them but I could hear them perfectly. Catching my breath, I leaned back against the wall as I tried to continue listening to their conversation.
I heard a cold chuckle from a guy, "What?" Sarah asked. So, he was the one chuckling. It made sense, that chuckle matched his creepy looks.
"Nothing, just some girl that ran off when I caught her staring." He chuckled again. My heart started pounding hard again. He saw me? Did he see what I looked like? Would he recognize me again?
"I wish I could scare people off by looking at them. They all think I'm just another dumb blonde." Sarah sighed. I didn't see her reaction and I didn't have to. Knowing her, I knew she would roll her eyes to the corner in a dumb way while playing with a loose strand of her blond hair and pretending to be chewing gum. She used to do that all the time when she talked about her looks.
"I know you hate the way you look right now but you can't change it, not until everything is done with at that party." The man said in a serious tone.
"Don't worry about it. Dia is already in my back pocket. She'll do anything I ask her to do." She said with arrogance.
"You can't be too sure. Plus it's not just her I want. It's the whole school." Okay this didn't sound good at all. What were they planning to do in a school that he needed her to look innocent and dumb for? Was Sarah going to repeat Aliya's story with another girl? With a whole bunch of school girls?
*Ring Ring*
A ringtone interrupted my thoughts.
"Did you hear that?" The guy asked. Oh god, It was my phone..
*Ring Ring*
Oh lord. Please stop ringing. I was panicking as I dig my hands in my jeans to get my phone. That’s when I heard a chair scratching the floor as it was being moved. My heart stopped and my head turned to peek inside, that guy was coming towards the window.
